Historia
An historic literary event: the publication of a newly discovered novel, the earliest known work from Harper Lee, the beloved, best-selling author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic To Kill a Mockingbird. Originally written in the mid-1950s, Go Set a Watchman was the novel Harper Lee first submitted to her publishers before To Kill a Mockingbird. Assumed to have been lost, the manuscript was discovered in late 2014.

Historia
On television, as the star of the popular Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Kevin Sorbo portrayed an invincible demi god. He relished living the part—putting in 14-hour days on set, doing his own stunts, and relentlessly working out at the gym. Until one day it all came to an abrupt end. Now, for the first time, Sorbo shares what viewers didn’t know: he suffered three strokes from an aneurysm in his shoulder and was left partially blind and entirely incapacitated at just 38 years old.

What a journey! I did not know that Kevin Sorbo had gone through all of this. I know him from Christian movies and wanted to know more about him. This is a very good listen.

Historia
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

Great story but the narration...
Revisado: 08-02-24
I thought I recognized the voice on the narration as the same one who narrated "Where the Crawdads Sing..." and I was correct. Please stop making southern women sound all moonlight and magnolias... I am from the south and for the love of all the is holy we don't sound this way.
Loved the story - was disappointed in the narration.

First glimpsed as a slender figure on a fogged-in beach, Joan Erikson was not only a friend and confidante when one was most needed, but also a guide as Anderson stretched and grew into her unfinished self.

If I hear the word "quip" one more time....

The word nourishment and quip and used so many times in this listen... It was almost a DNF. I am sure the story would have been really good had the author not been so in love with wordiness.

The book is good the narration is horrific
Revisado: 03-09-23
I have read this book but lost my copy. Used my monthly credit to get this book. Should have just bought it on kindle. This is probably the absolute worst narration of a book that I have ever heard. She sounds like a robot. Would love to have my credit back.
