I really loved listening to this. The characters are well done. The voices are believable as well. This mixes fiction with real events. The history is well researched.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Loved it!!
Revisado: 09-06-22
She was so straightforward and I loved it. She didn't hold back at all and I'm glad. I'm the same way. Sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes it isn't. It seems like Jeanette feels the way I do, that what you get is what you get. Authentic and real, take it or leave it. This book is all of that and more.

Historia
Rock and roll in the BC (Before Cooper) era was a tamer, milder world. In Who I Really Am, Cooper’s latest addition to Audible’s Words + Music series, we learn how the boa-wearing (not the feathered kind) maestro arrived at a show and sound - let’s call it AC for After Cooper - that has entertained millions of kids while terrifying parents in equal measure. Cooper drew inspiration from Saturday matinee horror movies, applied a "no such thing as too much" attitude, and hitched it to a kick-ass rock and roll band.

Loved this! I found myself wanting more and wishing it were longer. Funny and heartwarming stories about his life at home and with the band. I took off one star because it was such a short story. But what you get is excellent!!

Historia
When Harland Cain holds a .45 automatic to his head and bears down slowly upon the trigger, he experiences a profound sense of control over his destiny for the first time in his life. He savors the moment and imagines the click of the hammer, the explosion, and the bullet spiraling through the barrel before everything turns black. It's then he hears the out-of-control screaming of tires on the pavement, followed by the sickening sound of metal crashing against concrete. He lays down the pistol and crosses his yard in that predawn darkness to find a young boy, bloody and dazed.

Loved it so much!!
Revisado: 09-09-21
Normally I only listen to audio books in the car but this one I had to listen to in the house. Cooking dinner or whatever I was doing I had to listen to this book. That's how good it is! The narrator has a slow and easy way about him that just fits. At times I thought wow he reads pretty slowly, but it really does give you the feel of a slow, swaggering cowboy. It's an excellent book with well fleshed out characters and a lot of excitement. You won't be sorry listening to this one at all.
