My life is boring. Monotonous. And then tall, dark, and dangerous walks into the bar where I work. Before I know it, I’m in his arms asking him to rescue me. He’s Colt Weston, President of the Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club. Colt makes me feel alive…and wanted. Revisado: 09-16-24
Emma Slate is a new to me author and I found this series while working thru Stella Hunter’s catalog. The premise of the book sounded really great and I’m a huge fan of the MC sub genre, so I knew I had to give it a try. I absolutely love the storyline and cast of characters, but was really sad to see the lack of spice. This book could have easily been a five star for me, but I can't even give this book one pepper on the spice scale, because the spice is literally one sentence or barely mentioned. I do plan to listen to the new book, but will probably stop if the spice isn’t spicing. JF and Stella killed it like I knew they would. This is a duet style narration, which I love and was done beautifully by two of my favorite narrators. Would recommend on their performance alone.
Highly recommend if you’re looking to get into the MC sub-genre. It’s pretty tame compared to other MC books and series that I’ve read. Plus the spice is almost non existent, so if that’s not your thing definitely give this one a try.

Historia
Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.

Revisado: 09-16-24
This is a brand new to my author and I found this audiobook because I’m a huge fan of Jacob Morgan. The storyline was pretty great and gave me a little bit of Butcher & Blackbird vibes, but on a much lighter lighter scale. The spice was about a 🌶️ 🌶️ for me compared to spicier books I’ve read. This is a duet narration and Jacob absolutely killed it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the female narrator (this is my first audiobook by her) she felt flat and disingenuous at times like she was simply reading from the page.
If you’re not quite ready to give Butcher & Blackbird a try this book is a great segue into the genre.

As a rookie spy, my first mission is to seduce the Irish mafia boss's brother and prove he is behind the threat to the mafioso in The Big Apple. It's a dream job. Except my new boss is sucking all the joy from my life. Don Joshua Accardi seems way too invested in my personal safety, and he's constantly scolding me for taking too many risks.

I just finished listening to the audiobook of Cold King of New York and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. I was a bit apprehensive because I started with Cruel King and unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. Yes, I started with Caleb’s book, but I’ve been waiting for it since Scared to Love, so naturally I started backwards.
The storyline was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the slow relationship build up between Joshua and Gia. Although, I could have lived without the opening scene in chapter 1 I still really appreciated that Gia wasn’t some meek and scared FMC. Gia is a strong, smart, and resourceful FMC who takes no crap from other men especially Joshua. These traits make her an excellent spy to infiltrate the enemy. While Joshua and Gia’s relationship starts off a bit rocky (when Joshua becomes her handler) it’s clear to see the inferno building up between these two characters. Joshua isn’t my favorite Siobhan MMC, but he’s loads better than Caleb. I really didn’t like the instances where he’d fly off the handle, so to speak and use horrendous language for no other reason than to show he was angry. I felt like those instances could have been handled differently, but all in all in you could tell he both cares and loves his family. The spicy scenes were just meh to me. We only get two in this 300 page plus book, which is extremely annoying, and they are not very long. If you’re looking for a book with spice this duet, isn’t it. Definitely check your triggers with this book, as some scenes felt like they came out of nowhere, but I was prepared having read them first.
I absolutely loved the narration. Noel Harrison and Romona Master are two of my favorite narrators and they did a fantastic job of bringing Joshua and Gia to life. I did notice (which I believe might be a production issue) a lot of pauses that were not in between chapters rather scenes. Had I not read the book prior and known this, as a new listener I might be distracted by them, as they don’t flow well with the audio.
I recommend giving Cold King of New York a try on both audio and e-book, especially if you’re a huge fan of the Mazzone series. It’s a great addition to a fabulous series.

Mercenary Princess is my first Setta Jay book, and I am so glad I had an opportunity to read and listen to it (I know I know, sometimes I like to interchange reading and listening, and I am so glad that I did). I normally shy away from books written in third person, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story. It was almost like being immersed in the world of James Bond or the Kingsman. Not all is as it seems. The storyline was fantastic and was really unlike anything I’ve read before, which is awesome, because just when I think I’ve read it all I find that I haven’t.
I absolutely loved the FMC Sophia like our MMC she’s exactly the kind of female lead I like to read and listen about. She’s fierce, protective, smart and takes no crap from ANYONE. Viktor Popov is exactly like how I envision my MMC’s to be. Mysterious, brooding and all sorts of alpha. The spice was next level and the heat between these two characters could be felt thru the book and headphones (which I recommend to only listen with them on 🤭). I do wish we got to see more of a relationship build up between these two characters, but I really enjoyed that you could feel the sexual tension between the two every time they were together. I also thoroughly enjoyed the cast of characters. I hope we get to see more of them in future books.
The narration was absolutely phenomenal. I am a huge fan of both Troy Duran and Angela Rocca, and they killed it! Each brought something unique and special to their characters Sophia & Viktor and while I really enjoyed reading this book the narration just takes it to a whole other level. So, if you’ve only read the book, I highly recommend you give the audiobook try. It brings the characters to life in such a way you’ll never read the book the same way again.
If you’re looking for a book with all the twists & turns, one bad-a** heroine and a hot as f*** MMC this one for you.
I am so excited to jump into Setta’s Guardians of the Realms series next!

As a bodyguard, I have one rule: don't get attached. Yet Daisy's got me hooked. When I'm asked to protect her, I can't resist. She's warmth and kindness wrapped up in a curvy package, and I'm willing to cross any line to keep her safe. Almost. No matter how torn I am between duty and desire, there’s only one chance I can’t take. For her, I’ll risk anything—except for my heart.

This was my first book/audiobook by Jolie Vines and I freaking loved it! The storyline was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the lead characters Daisy and Ben. There were moments where the story felt like it dragged a bit, but the narrators did a really good job with helping me stay connected to the story. The spice was written really well and none of the scenes seemed too short or too long, they were just right. I really appreciated there wasn't OWD or a third act break-up, as I can't stand either of those things. I did struggle a bit with the lack of an epilogue between the two main characters and understand we'll continue seeing them in the next books in the series, however I would have still liked to have seen something, so I'm hoping for some kind of epic epilogue after the series is complete.
The narration was absolutely fabulous. I'm a huge Aaron Shedlock fan and that little bit of an accent he did really helps bring the MMC Ben to life. Addison also did a fantastic job and I thought she did a great job voicing Daisy. They're voices go really great together and I loved the sound effects too!
Highly recommend! I've already purchased and downloaded book 2 Save Her from Me and can't wait to jump in!

I read both the book and listened to the audiobook of Nine Month Contract, so my review will be a combination of both.
I need to start my review with that I’ve read every Amy Daws book (one of all-time favorites of any author is One Moment Please. I think I’ve read that book 50 times now) and have loved them all until this one. I was really excited for this book based on the blurb and while the execution was great I did not like the FMC at all (which is unusual, because I’ve loved all of Amy’s female leads) and lack of a real relationship between Trista (FMC) and Wyatt (MMC). I have read a lot of surrogacy books and have really enjoyed them, but the fact that Trista is very disconnected not only from the pregnancy but also Wyatt just made the book feel weird and unromantic. I get that Trista has had a rough go in life, but the constant number of boundaries and pushbacks against Wyatt made them falling in love, so hard to believe. I understand that she has her life set-up the way she wants and doesn’t want anyone intruding. However, she signed up to become a surrogate and every scene where the author could have created moments of them falling in love instead, we get a whining Trista about how she needs space blah blah blah. It honestly got extremely annoying. I also didn’t buy the fact that Wyatt was a controlling ‘mountain man.’ I don’t think Amy could decide if she wanted him to be lovestruck or an alpha type of man that says, ‘hear me roar.’ This book felt at times like a terrible knock-off of a Gemma Weir book (and she does mountain men well). Also, the chemistry between these two was severely lacking and the spicy scenes were so not that spicy (the spicy stuff doesn’t even happen until you’re 70% in the book), which was disappointing in that Amy has written some really good ones.
As with all Amy Daws audiobooks Teddy & Erin killed it. I really enjoy listening to both of these narrators and they really brought these characters to life. Erin did an especially good job, because I actually really disliked the FMC and with Erin’s narration, she was tolerable.
While the preface of the book is great, I really struggled with this one, but the narrators do a fantastic job, so I highly recommend listening to the audiobook versus reading it.

Word to the wise, never become roommates with a girl you’ve been pining over for the better part of a year. You're probably wondering why I would do such a thing? Well, I didn’t. It was my teammates. The moment they found out Blakely White was single, they took it upon themselves to play cupid and instruct me on how I should win her over. Don't wear a shirt around her. Make her dinner. Lightly touch her shoulder when you say goodbye. I'm so flustered, so overwhelmed, so madly in love with this woman who barely notices me.

So, my review is going to be based on both the eBook and the audiobook, as I did them in tandem. This was my first book by Meghan Quinn recommended by a book friend. I am just starting to read romcoms, so I didn't go into this story with a lot of expectations but was blown away how much I enjoyed it. It definitely is a slow burn, which usually isn't my favorite, because I'm all about the spice. However, the storyline was so good and so funny that I didn't miss it at all. The s*xual build up between the MMC & FMC was so freaking good that when things happened it was an explosion on page (I'm talking about you chapter 16).
This book had a lot of potential to be a five-star read for me but was really lacking in the epilogue and spice department. I would have loved to have seen more of their 'actual' relationship on page and some glimpses into their future. It felt like a lot of scenes were briefly mentioned on page instead of acted out (I'm assuming that was to cut the length of the book), but I would have loved to have read them anyway.
The narration was absolutely amazing. I am a HUGE Connor Crais fan and absolutely adore Erin Mallon. They absolutely nailed the characters and I really enjoyed that it was a duet style AND that the narrators from previous books were brought in to make it a full cast narration.
Highly recommend for the narration alone, but the storyline was also really good. If you're a huge fan of romcoms I recommend you give this one a try. I do not think you need to read the prior books in the series, as I did not and was able to follow along with the characters without any issues.

One heroic act damned me for eternity. With a name like Tor, I should have been a hero, just like my father and twin. Turns out I’m not. Not even close. Instead I’m the very thing we hunted. A depraved monster. I thought there was no escaping the curse. No hope for a future. And then I met my mate in the unlikeliest of places: Blackwood Asylum. A place for criminals. Power-hungry madmen. Haunting Beauty is the third installment of The Mate Games series and dare I say better than the original?! While I really enjoyed Rosie's books, I didn't think any of the others would quite compare to Sunday's story until this one. I loved everything and I mean EVERYTHING about this book. I love the plot. cast of characters and the men in this harem are wickedly delicious. If you combined the Ghost Whisperer, the Sixth Sense and Once Upon a Time into one, Haunting Beauty would be the result. It contains the best elements of each and I'm here for it. This book was lacking quite a bit on the spice; however, it made sense based on the storyline. I'm glad the authors didn't throw it in just for the wow factor. Rather the spicy scenes were nicely thought out and strategically placed.
The narration oh the narration. Meg and Kim are freaking geniuses. You both have spoiled us so much with these multi cast narrations. I cannot thank you enough for giving them to us. I literally am unable to pick a favorite narrator, because everyone you bring in smashes any expectations I might have and blow it completely out of the water. As always, the voices line up PERFECT with the characters they're reading, and I caught a certain British not to be named audiobook narrator make an appearance and that just elevated this one even more.
I'm excited and looking forward to the next book Hunted Beast.
If you're a huge fan of The Mate Games series I highly recommend you give Dahlia's book a try.

Since the Final War, I’ve been doing just fine. I have a lovely cave, a darling vegetable patch, forest views . . . and if loneliness sometimes squeezes my aching heart, well, my books have always kept me company. That is, until a pack of hunters chase me from my home and right into the arms of several rather large, rather brutish ex-Army Rangers. And those brutes have the nerve to make me the rudest offer I’ve ever heard. Their protection—for my body.

Blown Away 🤯
Revisado: 03-03-24
I was absolutely blown away by this audiobook. It's a duet narration which I love and mad props to whoever secured the line-up of male narrators. I LOVE THEM ALL! I actually stumbled upon this audiobook while looking for audiobooks for all of them and noticed they were all in one (very similar to the Mate Games, which is by far my favorite narrated series).
I really enjoyed the storyline. It was very different than a lot of books I've read. The cast of characters was absolutely everything and the narrators killed it! I had absolutely no expectations going into this book, as I had never heard of it until I was looking for audiobooks from my favorite male narrators. Based on the introduction to the audiobook I thought there would be more spicy scenes (I give it a 2 pepper), so I was surprised there wasn't, but still very good.
. I'm not going to lie there were times I struggled with some of the characters, I wasn't a huge fan of Eden until the end of the book and really struggled with Jasper, as I still don't quite understand his struggle. Like I kind of get, but don't. I'm really excited and a bit nervous to jump into book 2 just based on the blurb, but I'm so ready for it.
If you're a huge fan of the Mate Games audiobooks I highly recommend you give this one a try.
