I was going to skip this one based on the reviews. Then I started listening to book 8 and it was taking about thing I didn't remember from book 7, so I stopped and decided to give it a chance. I made it maybe half way through it, I just couldn't listen anymore. I didn't mind the different voices, with the exception of the Kristang I found their parts to be annoying and distracting. I don't know if it was the overall story or just they way it was told. Normally I like the Joe / Skippy banter where he pokes fun at Joe but this time it was just too over the top and took away from the main story. All I can say is please don't do this again , I would be a shame if I had to stop listening to this series.

Good end to the series

I listened the the 1st book in this series also, I didn't realize there was another until this one came out. I will have to go back and listen to the 2nd one now. This was a good ending to it, I thought they did a good job tying everything together. I will probably look for some other books by this author.

Great story!

I thought the story was well written, a accurate glimpse at what could happen. The narrator did a good job and he made the story easy to follow. I was hoping for a little more tie in with the main character and his family but that did keep me from liking it. Overall I thought it was a good story and good performance.

I tried to like it. First off it, might have, been better with, a different, narrator. The constant pauses made it very difficult to listen to. Second, the description said "if you like Jessica Jones" and they are simular in ways ( I won't spoil it) it kind of feels like a knock off. It's almost half way through the book before you start learning anything about the case, the first half is constant flashback back story on the main character.

Over all its a good story

I didn't care for the first narrator, but after that it was better. Good back story followed up by steamy story lines. Over all I enjoyed it very much.

Great story

I really enjoyed the book, I really like the books about origins of the the ancient sith lords. The narrator did an excellent job. The only thing I could have done without was some of the sound effects, some were ok but some were just distracting. Overall it was a good story and I look forward to the next books in the series.

It was just OK.

I felt like the story was a little disjointed, the first half of the book was decent, but the last half seamed like details about Lilly were thrown in or added at the last minute. I realize that it's a short story but it was to short for they way the characters backgrounds were developed. Also the narration brought it down a little for me, at times it was difficult to tell which person was talking.

Overall a decent book

I went back and forth a few times while listening to this book and that's what I enjoy sometimes. First I was opposed to some of the plot then the author redeems himself. I was kind of a cross between Criminal Minds and NCIS ( two shows that really enjoy ) it kept me guessing to the end.

Would I recommend this to someone?
Yes.

Would I read something else from this author?
Yes.

Would I listen to something else by this narrator? He did an OK job, there were some times I wish he showed a little more emotion but yes I would try another book by him.

Couldn't finish it

I really tried to finish it, I made it halfway through and just couldn't make it anymore. If a book doesn't hold my interest in the first few chapters it's a lost cause for me. The story line was a bit confusing for me.
