Historia
Seventeen-year-old Nadia lives in Canaan, a quiet city in an idyllic world, hemmed in by high walls that are constructed of a material no one in her town recognizes. Every 12 years the people of Canaan undergo a collective Forgetting; in the days before, the town devolves into a chaos of bloody violence, and afterward the people are left without any trace of memory of themselves, their families, their lives. Nadia has never forgotten, however.

I enjoyed it!

I enjoyed the story. I I think the reader did a great job of differentiating between all of the characters. She died a great “man” voice, which always matters to me.

Historia
Our unconscious thought patterns determine our relationships, our spiritual life, and our connection to God to a much greater extent than we know. That’s an alarming thought, because the subconscious mind is a mysterious realm that is really difficult to access and influence...right? No. It’s really not! And it’s the most urgent and impactful thing we can do. This book will show you how.

Life Changet
Revisado: 02-04-22
This is likely the best book I’ve read/listened to in YEARS. I’d say I am a rather emotionally stable, generally content and happy person. But within a month of reading/listening to this book I have learned to live in a higher, more joyful way. I can’t recommend it enough.

Just finished the whole series. I love that the characters from all of the books are intertwined so by the end you know all of them like old friends.

In Being Mortal, best-selling author Atul Gawande tackles the hardest challenge of his profession: how medicine can not only improve life but also the process of its ending. Medicine has triumphed in modern times, transforming birth, injury, and infectious disease from harrowing to manageable. But in the inevitable condition of aging and death, the goals of medicine seem too frequently to run counter to the interest of the human spirit.

I recommend this book to anyone and everyone!! I’m a nurse and have dealt with aging and death for lice over 15 years, but I’ve never experienced it like this before. Absolutely a must read!
