Historia
The American Colonies, 1765. As the Stamp Act dissent marks the first organized resistance to English rule, someone is kidnapping and killing members of the Iroquois Nation. Asked by an elder to investigate, Scottish exile Duncan McCallum soon uncovers a network of secret runners supporting the nascent “committees of correspondence", engaged in the political dissent fomenting across colonial borders. But as Duncan follows the trail further, it leads to his capture.

Original Death Review
Revisado: 08-26-24
This was a very well written and wonderful presentation of activities leading up to the Revolutionary War. Although it is a fictional story it conveys the essence of the people during this time and the many factions of each group that had varied interests and the dangers they all faces. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this book and the entire series thus far.

Historia
Inspired by her research for the hit podcast Ultra, Rachel Maddow charts the rise of a wild American strain of authoritarianism that has been alive on the far-right edge of our politics for the better part of a century. Before and even after our troops had begun fighting abroad in World War II, a clandestine network flooded the country with disinformation aimed at sapping the strength of the U.S. war effort and persuading Americans that our natural alliance was with the Axis, not against it.

Fantastic wake up call to the Nazi elements that existed within the USA in the 30-40’s and continue to fester today.

Historia
It's 1546, and Scotland is under attack from Henry VIII, determined to marry his son to the infant Mary, Queen of Scots. A few among the Scottish lairds are eager for this alliance, too. They kill Cardinal Beaton, who is Mary’s great protector, and take St. Andrews Castle, expecting rescue any day from England. Local lad Will is among them, fighting for the Protestant cause. His treasonous activities place his family in grave danger, forcing his sister, Bethia, into an unwelcome alliance.

A Scottish tale of intrigue and desperation.
Revisado: 01-07-24
This book does bring to life the individuals, especially the everyday people during this event. With the constant state regulations and religious domination, the people of Scotland have little ability to change the fate of their lives. In this moment a conspiratorial few rise up to challenge their situation. Thus this book explores their efforts and the price they pay for their actions.
