This was my first exposure to the series which could be part of the problem. The story developed at a snails pace. The social protocols were beat to death. I was just getting into the plot when the book ended. It's probably going to be a good story but I'll be #$%^'d if I buy another 6 books to get to the conclusion.

I had my doubts in section 1, but it turned out to be a very entertaining listen. I continue to have the opinion that only romance writers should attempt to write love/rape/sex passages.

I'd wager that one could rope & drag this narrator thru rock & cactii, tar & feather him, then make him listen to yodeling LPs and he'd never break from his monotone.

I hated to put it down

This was recommended to my wife by a rocket scientist. I'm assuming the science is accurate. I thought the plot twists were good. The heroine survived so many fantastic death traps it got a little silly but then it's an action novel not a biography. It's a very enjoyable quick read.
