Historia
Sir Winston Churchill was a British statesman, orator, and author who, as prime minister, rallied the British people during World War II and led Britain to an allied victory. Churchill's "bulldog" spirit seemed to summarise the mood of the British people even during the bad times, such as Dunkirk, and the inspirational victories, such as the Battle of Britain. His was a brilliant mind, full of wit and intelligence; his oratory brilliance and his admirable style led him to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953.

Churchill was a remarkable man with many faults for which he had no apologies. He had the ability to distill complex ideas into simple phrases which makes an extremely short book extremely valuable

Historia
Mickey Rooney began his career almost a century ago as a one-year-old performer in burlesque and stamped his mark in vaudeville, silent and talking films, Broadway, and television. He acted in his final motion picture just weeks before he died at age 93. He was an iconic presence in movies and the poster boy for American youth. Yet, by World War II, Mickey Rooney had become frozen in time.

Historia
The Arsenal of Democracy tells the incredible story of how Detroit answered the call, centering on Henry Ford and his tortured son Edsel, who, when asked if they could deliver 50,000 airplanes, made an outrageous claim: Ford Motor Company would erect a plant that could yield a “bomber an hour”. Critics scoffed: Ford didn’t make planes; they made simple, affordable cars. But bucking his father’s resistance, Edsel charged ahead.

A Herculean effort
Revisado: 02-22-22
This book held my attention from beginning to end. The fact that Ford shifted from passenger car and truck production to the production of B 24 liberator bombers( along with Jeeps, engines, and even gliders) is a fascinating chapter in our history. Yet another example of how the “greatest generation“ stepped up to the plate and through sacrifice and hard work made our current lives so much better and in this case helped to prevent a Worldwide catastrophe.

Great book
Revisado: 08-05-20
I have listened to this book over and over again for several weeks. It is so good That I pick up a little something each time through. The common sense suggestions are so good that I pick up something new each time I go through the book.
They are so good that I would like to share them with my grandsons except for the parts about married life.
I was very suspicious because of the title of the book but it is simply a primer for how a gentleman conducts himself.
I was a Navy officer and I wish I had been made aware of the service officers manual when I was in my 20s.

Historia
When John Wilkes Booth fired his Derringer point-blank into President Abraham Lincoln's head, he set in motion a series of dramatic consequences that would upend the lives of ordinary Washingtonians and Americans alike. In a split second, the story of a nation was changed. During the hours that followed, America's future would hinge on what happened in a cramped back bedroom at Petersen's Boardinghouse, directly across the street from Ford's Theatre.

An absorbing book
Revisado: 05-22-20
Have always been fascinated with April 14, 1865 and the tragedy that occurred. This book goes into great detail with many details I’ve never heard. I found it to be absorbing and fascinating. Very highly recommend.
