Historia
The only way I know how to tell a story is to start at the beginning. My story begins in the eighteenth century, when South Texas was first settled by civilized people and when the big ranches came into being. History has been sanitized, but I am not dead yet. I have the verbal history to share, along with some of the greatest Texas hunting stories ever told. This true story takes you back to a time when outlaw hunting on the King Ranch was nothing more than a game. Jumping the fence was a way of life.

Great stories!
Revisado: 04-03-25
Two things to understand, 1) Different time in history 2) The lifestyles of people in those times definitely don't reflect how people behave today. With that said, it's understood how the authors life is pinnacle to grasping all of the activities laid out in this book. Personally growing up in the 90s in Central Valley CA, we actually did very similar activities that would land us in jail today. That being said, I believe with all my heart that this is a fantastic journey through this man's life of whom I would say we are kindred spirits. I laughed, I stood in awe and I reflected on my life during the book and can honestly say that it's as American as it gets. Tough gritty and just gnarly

I heard about this book while watching a tik tok video with the author. I was taken aback by the uncanny story of this 4'-9" behemoth war hero. Just an incredible story that had me whispering to myself at work, "WTF?!?!" due to Flaherty's bravery and exploits as well as the great story telling. Really appreciated it and have recommended the book to my friends.
