I'm having to listen to this in bits. The narrator is screaming at me through the entire story. Every scene is read as if someone is running a stop watch on her and everyone is going to die. I think the characters could all use some prosaic. For a story with so much hype. surely a better narrator can be found.

Great series. Not quite done with the third story. So glad i picked this up. I usually don't care for the darker romances. I think that is because there is too much violence. These stories are well balanced and creative. Looks like she has a spin-off and some other series that also look good. I could not find any info on audio release dates. When will they be on audible? Please keep these narrators.

While I was hooked from the first book, and found this series so creative and unique at the time, about 12 books in, and I find myself frustrated and burnt out. This is like the 4th story where the male character is exiled/or no longer valued by the tribe because of his actions to win a mate. I'm sorry, but this trope is just old and overdone. Vektal is now letting Georgie make tribal decisions. And she has just turned into a spoiled you know what. Beck did not do anything wrong. He asked for slaves as a favor for letting the captain and his crew ransack the green alien's ship. Earth women who were already taken from earth, would be sold and abused, some having already been abused. And the tribe acts like he placed an order with slavers to go to earth and bring fresh meat. These women are as free as they ever will be. Beck actually did them a favor. I'm really sick and tired of the tribe ganging up on one male because he takes the initiative to change his circumstance. Maybe they should start showing a little compassion to the warriors instead of treating them as outcasts at every opportunity. Frustrating. And give the girl a dang bath already. I'm surprised she is still breathing. Or anyone around her is still breathing. lol

Way too much violence against women. Not my kind of romance. I like the thrill of a threat from a villain and the hero saving the day. Beating a woman almost to death, not to mention the other horrible things, puts this story in the regular fiction category. Please screen romance novels and categorize better. thanks

Who is this story about? It's all over the place. I thought it was supposed to be about Rush and his love. Beck and some chick named Jana have just as big a part. WTF? Rush falls in love looking through binoculars. Faster then any insta love. And I don't mind insta love. Usally, the 2 main characters are in almost every scene. Not in this story. They share the spot light with so many other characters and POVs, you get lost. And the epilogue had so many 2minutes later , 2 hrs, later, 2 weeks later, 2 months later, 2 years later, I got wiplash. My first KA book ever was mortorcycle man. So, I stuck with the Chaos series even though I could not finish the previous 2 before Free. I think free stands for free for all. Disappointed and sad. Certainly loss of focus going on here. Not everyone reads every series and working every character into one book will not encourage them to do so.

I read the first book and really enjoyed it. when it came out on audibles, i downloaded. Narrator read it too fast. book 2 i had not yet read, but it had a new narrator. This one also read too fast, but also sounded like a teenager, so she was worse. While i liked the first story, it was a beleivable fantasy. This story was too far out on the unbeleivable limb for me and i found myself fast forwarding to get to the end. i can't list the details that i found so unbelievable without adding spoilers. i already downloaded book 3, but may return without listening... Disappointing all the way around.

Any additional comments?

The narrator did a good job. Her voice matched the age of the heroine and the other characters were also done well.

This book was not sweet like Mayhem, but the characters are not what you would call adorable like Adam and Peach, so that is to be expected. But Adam and Peach had their story, so we want a different experience. We first met Joel and Dee in Mayhem and knew before going into Riot that a charming story was not in the cards for these two. Joel sleeps with a different girl or girls every night. He always has someone new hanging off of him whenever Dee sees him; even after they hooked up in the first book. Joel has no plans to change his man-whore ways. Dee is the female version of Joel in that she has sex with different guys on a regular basis and never lets herself feel anything for them. She likes to capture their attention, their hearts, and then dump them and move on. This type of female character is harder to identify with as most women are not quite so open sexually, especially sex without emotion, and tend to be more sensitive to other’s feelings; but heartless women are certainly not unheard of. The good news is that Dee is not really cold-blooded; she believes this is what she has to do in order to protect herself from being hurt.

Joel and Dee start off playing the game of – look at me, I’m cooler than you and can get anyone I want – that quickly becomes a habit. However, Joel is not like every other guy Dee has been with and does not fall into her jealousy trap. This drives Dee crazy and she can’t walk away. Dee makes a bad decision that quickly intensifies the story and the relationship between her and Joel. Eventually they both fall hard. The negative behavior of both characters is expected due to their age and normal behavior patterns, but Dee tends to be a bit more self-absorbed throughout the story. There are things in her background that drive her to act out and push those who care about her away; even her best girlfriend. I just wanted to slap her and tell her to get over it. But then, that is normal behavior for me. LOL Everyone knows at least one drama queen that they would like to slap or shake the crap out of. I know a few that are way past the maturity level of the characters in this book.

The beauty of Jamie Shaw’s writing is her ability to create such unique, realistic and age appropriate characters. Real me in with all the characters in book one so I can’t get enough, and I will auto download every book in the series – and that is the true brilliance of a good author. Do not pass up this author. I am looking forward to Sean and Kit’s story…

second listen. decent college love story. interesting change in that the hero keeps pushing the heroine away when usually it is the other way around. I understand his reasoning, but the last time he does it really ticked me off and i felt the heroine should have moved on and then told him where to go when he tried to come back for the umpteenth time. I guess it's a good thing I am not the author. Good series. Well worth a listen. Also liked the narrator...
