Historia
When a Druid lives as long as Atticus does, he’s bound to run afoul of a few vampires—make that legions of them. Even his former friend and legal counsel turned out to be a bloodsucking backstabber. Now the toothy troublemakers—led by power-mad pain-in-the-neck Theophilus—are no longer content to live undead and let live. Atticus needs to make a point—and drive it into a vampire’s heart.

Least enjoyable of the series
Revisado: 06-22-20
Of the entire series, this is my least favorite book.
Too much going on, all the side stories, now it’s about 3 main characters instead of all about Atticus & Oberon, with minor characters.
Now it’s 3 main characters plus their minute side characters.
Yawn.

too much of nothing going on
Revisado: 02-26-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
There were way too many characters in this book. More than once I had to ask myself "Who is this person?", "Has this character been in the book yet?", "Who is this character?" Overlapping and mixing so many different stories and lives into one story is a good idea, it just didn't work out very well for me in this one.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Blake Somerset?
Yeah. I enjoyed his narration.
What character would you cut from Last Summer?
Too many to list. I realize not every character is going to be exciting or interesting to everyone, but there were just too many in this one. After getting about 2/3 of the way through this book I started hitting the :30 forward button, to skip past the story lines that seemed like too much filler.

Historia
Falling for a coworker is rarely a good idea, especially for a man getting a last chance at salvaging his career. But from the moment Dwyer Knolls sees the beautiful but socially awkward Takeo Hiroyuki, he seems destined to make bad decisions. Takeo's life is a string of failed attempts to please his traditional Japanese father. Unfortunately, succeeding in business turns out to be just as difficult for Takeo as changing from gay to straight.

Short book, but enjoyable
Revisado: 02-18-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yeah, as long as they were looking for a book under 3 hours! I normally look for books that run longer but decided to give this one a try. Not amazing, but it was enjoyable.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Blue Days?
I don't think any one thing really stood out to me more than another. Being under 3 hours, it almost felt like it was over before it really got very far!

Historia
Jake Landon thinks a second ranger season in the Colorado Rockies with his hyper-competent lover Kurt Carlson is close enough to heaven, and a national forest is big enough to be his closet. City life, school - and the luxuries of electricity and running water - can wait, maybe forever, as long as Jake doesn’t have to come out. He doesn’t plan on Kurt’s vision of his future being as narrow and direct as the single track roads through the trees.

So much better than I expected! Great story!
Revisado: 02-18-15
If you could sum up Blood on the Mountain in three words, what would they be?
Loved this book!
Have you listened to any of Finn Sterling’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was his first performance I listened to, but I thought he fit it perfectly. Jake, Kurt, he did perfectly. Then when he read Jake's Mom's parts I laughed. Other times I cried when he read her parts. Excellent narration.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Laugh? Yes. Cry? Yes. Loved it? Absolutely.

started intense, then turned into nothing special
Revisado: 02-18-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
falling for a homeless guy? maybe if there weren't so many panhandlers in my city then this could have been a bit more believable :-/ It started out great and I had high hopes for it. Unfortunately the book didn't deliver.
How could the performance have been better?
the performance overall was decent, just a bad story.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I did like the relationship between Jace and his sister.... And the store owner, the older man who gave Jace a job so that he would have less idle time. I liked his part in the story also. The book got so bad I have already forgotten character's names...and I don't care enough about the book to do an internet search to find out their names.
Any additional comments?
Huge let down.

Historia
Zack Sheldon doesn't have time to be lonely. He's in his last year as a pediatric resident, almost married to the job, and busy with the joys and sorrows that come with providing medical care to children. Professionally, he's confident, accomplished, and respected. But personally he's too insecure to approach a sexy man like Sergio Quartulli, or even to imagine that Sergio might be attracted to him.

Revisado: 10-30-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I have a couple of coworkers who would probably like it. I sure didn't.
What was most disappointing about Jake Wells’s story?
the narrator
How did the narrator detract from the book?
definitely.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I didn't even finish it, only got about half way through it. So if it had any redeeming qualities, maybe there were in the second half.

Would you listen to The Dead Sun again? Why?
Dead Sun started off as "another" Star Force book, battling alien races, fighting for survival. I even took a couple weeks off, after getting about halfway through. Then it all turned around! So many unexpected twists in the story. So glad I started it again. Great ending for the series.

What disappointed you about The Druid Stone?
I made it through 6 chapters, hoping it would get better and actually get somewhere. It never did.

Don't know yet. I'll start looking.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ian Ruane?
the narrator reminded me of a leprechaun. Had a hard time getting in to it.
What character would you cut from The Druid Stone?
meh, I don't know about cutting characters.

Best Star Trek yet!
Revisado: 05-24-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! This is one of my favorite books ever. I love the idea of looking at Star Trek from the beginning, when the Enterprise crew could have first met. Quinto's narration is exciting and emotional, two things that are not always present in Star Trek of the past.
Which scene was your favorite?
The part of this book that stands out the most to me involves Spock and his relationship with his mother and the emotion that Quinto gives to the scene when Spock's mother dies.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed over and over with things Kirk, in his cocky attitude, says to others, from the bar to the academy, and also with the way Bones responds to others. Best Star Trek yet.
