Cut to the chase!
Revisado: 08-08-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Last Refuge to be better than the print version?
I didn't read print version.
Would you be willing to try another book from Craig Robertson? Why or why not?
Maybe. It would have to catch my attention to start. The author has a good telling ability but very long-winded in parts and it made me lose attention. I almost gave up after the first hour of listening because there were so many non-necessary details. Once we finally got to the story it was much better.
What does Tim Gerard Reynolds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Pretty adept at changing his voice to meet the character accents. Usually good...sometimes annoying and he slips in and out occasionally.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
What would you NOT do for love?

Buyer Beware
Revisado: 02-16-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I have loved all of Hosseini's previous books but this one was challenging to listen to. It involves many story lines, many points of view and jumping from present to past tense. And I'm usually ok with following along but this one was tough and the ending (when it finally came) dropped off like a cliff. And the narrators are DIFFICULT and frustrating to understand (and accents don't usually bother me).
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The story itself has a good premise. Just too bogged down with jumping from characters to tenses to narrators.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrators?
Hosseini for all characters.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Depends.
Any additional comments?
Hosseini, please make more stories like the "Kite Runner." I feel it was your best work to date!

Complicated
Revisado: 11-19-13
If you could sum up The Case of the Love Commandos in three words, what would they be?
Too many storylines
Would you recommend The Case of the Love Commandos to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes. I love the private detective and his different situations he gets into.
Which scene was your favorite?
When the plot was resolved.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Laugh out loud in places.
Any additional comments?
This story had too many story lines to follow. I like it for its simplicity and this particular story was very complicated. Lots of different things happening in different places.
I would love for the author to simplify and give us more about Vish in his own life; the chilis, his mother (but don't switch between feeble and strong old lady), his staff and their interactions, etc. I want to know more about him!
