My name is Randy—the noun, not the adjective. As a professional writer and accidental barbarian, I should be a prime candidate to be portaled to a LitRPG fantasy world known as Genera. It should be a no-brainer for me to grab the nearest weapon and start slaying bloodthirsty goblins, gaining levels, solving puzzles, and fighting my way to the top of a mysterious tower with seven distinct floors. Technically, I was born for this. Or so I thought. Unlike actual video games, if someone dies here in Genera, they die here for good. And I don't want to die.

as funny and great the book read, the audio is even better. the characters come alive and the humor hits even better with the voice acting. really give this a go if you're looking for some action fantasy mixed with a healthy dose of humor.

this was a great intro to what appears to be a bigger story in the future. The dialogue pulls no punches for the "douchey" character which I do appreciate the realism. I am really looking forward to what comes next

this was a great listen. the narrator really brought it to life. the story was action packed and had just the right amount of mystery to what was going on and what would happen. love the action and the little jokes here and there. if you enjoy your adventure books with some steaminess give this a try

The story is a great mixture of military , sci fi, and fantasy. The story is about a secret seal team 11 that handles extra dimensional beings trying to create chaos so they can take over. They also through dimensional rifts and gates encountered elves, gnomes, and orcs. For someone who grew up in a military family the narration has a genuine military feel. He lands the jokes perfectly in my opinion.

I grew up in the church in many denominations whether Episcopalian, Catholic, Baptist, or non denominational. I don't really attend these days because many churches and followers don't really follow Jesus and his teachings. This is a pastor that gets it. love your neighbor as yourself. no buts. no but hate this religion or this group. he talks about loving them all and if god deems you to be the one to show them the word then do it but realise you may not be the word. often people get caught up on it wanting to be them and needing to be the one, and it's a form of pride and greed. that unconditional love without the need to preach and beat them over the head repeatedly may be what opens the door for someone else to convert when God says the time is right.
there were other good lessons as well but personally that was the one that sticks for me because I think it's an important one that many need to learn. Many will think no that's not me because we are blind to our own sins and prejudices.

a great new take on the gamelit genre

they say it's all fun and games until somebody dies. but that's a lie. apparently that's when the real fun begins. there are some adult issues that are touched upon like someone struggling with addiction. The book has good action and a creative story. A really fun listen.

A great intro to the game world.

This book is great. It's fun in the way you get to see the mc grow. It doesn't just flash forward like most would with a "he slew 50 rats and gained 50 levels. They aren't completely op and there is effort needed to gain the power. The novel is very descriptive which helps with imagining this new world.
