I really enjoyed the story and performances, I just wish the author would stop referring to nootropics as steroids🙄😂

Entertaining, but inaccuracies were distracting.

For a story based on the Bible I wish they’d been a little more careful with proofreading. It may be silly, but it got annoying that they kept referring to psalm 23 as the Lord’s Prayer.

the narration, it's not good
Revisado: 03-10-24
I wish they'd hired the same narrator as the first books. Simon's narrator is British... Simon is from New York... and the girl's voice is just distracting. She over-pronounces everything, and I'm not a fan of her acting. it almost reminds me of kids reading aloud in English class. It's really hard to get into the story because the narration doesn't flow as it should.

the performance is distracting
Revisado: 04-09-23
Mac in the first 3 books was actually southern, and the Irish accents were good.
I'm really disappointed to see that the new narrators seem to be doing the next few books. The woman can't hold on to an accent, her "Irish" goes between bad British, bad Scottish, and American Midwest... her southern accent cuts in and out, and it's pretty terrible when it's 'in'. I like having a man to read Barrons, but his emotionless voice is super distracting and for some reason much louder than the rest of the audio.

missing the usual narrator
Revisado: 07-28-22
The Hollows series is great for relaxed easy reading, but this narrator made it hard to stay engaged with the book. The voices she uses don't fit with the characters, they're almost cartoonish. It almost feels like she intentionally pronounces things differently than in the previous books. I wish they hadn't deviated from the narrator who reads the rest of the series, or that it at least felt like the current narrator had listened to the previous narration in an attempt at continuity.
I really wish the publisher would re-release this book with narration by Marguerite Gavin.

disappointment
Revisado: 03-16-21
I'm not quite sure what happened between the 3rd book and this one, but most of the characters' personalities have changed quite a bit, and not for the better. The new narrator, while having a pleasant voice, was definitely a poor choice here. Accents are different or missing entirely, previously melodic soprano voices are now monotonous altos.
This fourth installment almost feels like it was written by a ghost writer, it just doesn't flow with the first three novels.
