not worth the credit

The most poorly written Connelly book I have ever read, made even more daunting my mediocre narration.

find a better narrator

This is a great book (one of my favorites) but I would recommend finding a different reader. This is not a great version it makes the story really drag. Spend the extra money for a better narrator.

A charming story, fluffed with history

I had some grievances with this book; the author did not seem to have a refined, strong writing style and at times the author's wine knowledge is inaccurate and severely wanting. Some of the narrators French pronunciations caused me to cringe I enjoyed the fluid narration and found the story entertaining and engaging. I would not recommend this to a French wine connoisseur but it is worthy to amuse any who have moderate affections for wine and/or history. All in all; well worth a credit.

a formula plot

Before Eclipse I read Exile, which made it a bit impossible to really get in to Eclipse because it seemed like the same story; American male attorney friends with a married female activist in danger, [insert human rights crisis here]. All it all it was good however I could not help but feel like I was in a formula rather than a story, Eclipse is the Africa version of Exile, and Exile the Middle East version of Eclipse more or less.

worth a credit

A good read worth a credit, nothing amazing but decent writing, decent characters, and absolutely excellent narration. I think that if I had read the actual tangable book I might have been a little disappointed or felt a lag here and there but this is an example of how an audiobook can really enhance a story and make it more enjoyable (and less time consuming as you can listen while you work). If the author was still alive I might listen to his next book but would not seek it out.

Not Disappointed

I really enjoyed this book, good story told from a character with a unique vantage point, sound narration and good writing (at times a bit predictable). This is the first book by Richard North Patterson I have read (listened to) but he has sufficiently impressed me that I will be reading more. I don't think this will disappoint.

if you like Jane Austin

It is Jane Austin, so if you like Jane Austin then it is for you. The narration is good while the recording quality is less than ideal it did not hinder the story.

a decent mystery

Total
3 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 01-14-09

An interesting story line and a decent mystery despite the two-dimensional characters. At times the writing style is slightly crude and juvenile, filled with many tedious; "sucks", "god damn its" "you knows". The narrator has a good rhythm is easy to listen two, save the cringes of pain induced as she stumbles through horrific indecipherable accents. So if you can live with the aforementioned shortcomings you will have a nice mystery worth the few hours and a credit.

Without Fail Audiolibro Por Lee Child arte de portada

Good, but not the best.

Total

Revisado: 01-12-09

This book is not my favorite of Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels but still good. If you have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Child's action star Jack Reacher, I would not start with this one, but for those who already like the well written, ever engrossing Reacher series this is worth the time.
