Historia
It’s like an old-time gangster movie: A speeding car, a blazing gun…and suddenly a guy walking down the street without a care in the world is lying in the gutter without a head on his shoulders. But who pulled the high-powered trigger that turned Sy Kramer from a blackmailer into a chalk outline? Was it the politician’s wife with a pornographic past? The soda-pop tycoon desperate to keep a business-busting bungle bottled up? Or was it whoever was paying Kramer a small fortune to hide what must’ve been one very big bad?

Bad language

Too much bad language.
If you like Sci-Fi type stories you'll probably like this except for the language.
Good narrator.

Historia
Reacher is hitching through the heat of West Texas and getting desperate for a ride. The last thing he's worried about is exactly who picks him up.
She's called Carmen. She's a good-looking young woman, she has a beautiful little girl...and she has married into the wrong family. They're called the Greers. They're a bitter and miserly clan, and they've made her life a living hell. Worse, her monster of a husband is soon due out of prison. So she needs protection, and she needs it now.
Lawyers can't help. Cops can't be trusted. So Reacher goes home with her to the lonely ranch where nothing is as it seems, and where evil swirls around them like dust in a storm. Within days, Carmen's husband is dead - and simmering secrets send Echo, Texas, up in flames.

The Worst Jack Reacher Ever!
- De S. Craig en 05-06-09
Better than most books, but not my fav L.Child
Revisado: 03-16-13
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Jack Reacher character. Least was all the dysfunctional family drama. Just wasn't one of my favorite Child books.
Which character – as performed by Dick Hill – was your favorite?
Reacher
Did Echo Burning inspire you to do anything?
Continue to make careful life altering choices.
Any additional comments?
I like Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels. Reacher character is intelligent, skillful, witty, no nonsense, capable, mostly moral, and funny at times. I like his thought processes and how he figures out how to handle dangerous situations and bad guys.

Then, decades later, thousands of miles away in New York, there's an inescapable glance of recognition between two strangers. Providence is giving Lenka and Josef one more chance. From the glamorous ease of life in Prague before the Occupation, to the horrors of Nazi Europe, The Lost Wife explores the power of first love, the resilience of the human spirit, and the strength of memory.

Very Good Historical (and biographical?) fiction
Revisado: 10-08-12
What made the experience of listening to The Lost Wife the most enjoyable?
Kept wanting to listen! What would happen next?
What did you like best about this story?
The fact that it is historical. We should always remember history and the truth about what happened!
What does George Guidall and Suzanne Toren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
They were both great. I chose this because of Guidall, but Ms. Toren read most of it. Did great jobs!
Any additional comments?
I recommend this book!

Historia
It's a gorgeous autumn day in Georgetown. The Democratic candidates for president and vice-president of the United States are dutifully glad-handing voters and the media outside a grand estate where a national-security conference has just been held, bringing together the world's greatest minds to discuss the issues that are threatening the country. It's American politicking at its best. That's when all hell breaks loose.

Way too much profane language
Revisado: 05-19-10
While the story was still good as far as Vince Flynn quality, there was way too much profanity compared to his others. Was it really necessary? No.
