Historia
Recently engaged and deeply ensconced in her third year of surgical residency in Chicago, Emily Hartford gets a shock when she is called home to Freeport, Michigan, the small town she fled a decade ago after the death of her mother. Her estranged father, the local medical examiner, has had a massive heart attack. At the hospital, she finds her father in near total denial of the seriousness of his condition. He insists that the best thing Emily can do to help him is to take on the autopsy of a senator's teen daughter whose sudden, unexplained death has just rocked the sleepy town.

Very amateurish writing
Revisado: 08-26-23
The title says it all. It could also have used some serious copy editing with all the misused vocabulary and obvious typos that the narrator read word for word. Don’t waste your time.

Pack rule number one: Never reveal to a human. I broke that rule the day I met the beautiful doctor. I might be a rodeo champ, but one look at her, and I lost my concentration. The bull tossed and gored me, and now the sweet female is on to me. When I healed within hours, she knew something wasn’t right. My alpha told me to watch her. Not a problem. I’ll watch her all right. Real close. I’ll stick to her like superglue. And those human men who want to date her? They’d better step back. Because the doctor is all mine. Whether she knows it yet or not.

Elementary school level narration
Revisado: 08-24-23
The narrator reads like a 2nd grader. She has no concept of inflection or punctuation and ruins the story. She either needs some remedial reading classes or lacks a personality because she reads in a robotic monotone using run-on dialogue with no awareness of the script.

Historia
Catherine Morland reads tales of Gothic romance, yet leads a country life in Wiltshire. When she travels to Bath, she meets and falls in love with Henry Tilney. She is invited by his sister and father to stay at Northanger Abbey, where she meets all the trappings of Gothic horror that she has read about. Fortunately, she has her own good sense and irresistible but unsentimental hero, Henry Tilney.

Outstanding gothic satire
Revisado: 08-24-23
If this wasn’t a satire making light of gothic horror novels, then Katherine would rank as nearly the dem level of nincompoop as Rebecca. Thankfully, Katherine has slightly more boldness of character so the novel wasn’t completely a waste. I love that Austen defends the value of novels while writing such a satire of those same novels. Warms my heart. Yes, “trashy” novels serve a purpose and have their place in literature. I’ve had no exposure to this book but that’s my very amateur interpretation of this volume of writing. Love it! And the narration was perfection!!

I don’t enjoy listening to TV
Revisado: 08-24-23
If I wanted a television show I would have turned on Netflix. To try and convert a book into an ancient radio broadcast in the style of a modern television show absolutely doesn’t work. I couldn’t follow parts of the story due to sound effects taking the place of actual dialogue. Ridiculous. Stop trying to be something you’re not, Audible.

The top 10 list is populated. The sponsorship program is open. The difficulty is ramping up. The first three floors were nothing compared to what Carl and Donut now face. The Iron Tangle. An impossibly complicated subway system built out of the world's subterranean railway systems, all combined and then tied together into a knot. Up is down.

Nothing but filler and no plot
Revisado: 07-30-23
What a waste of a credit. I should have had a clue after book 2 that this one would head even more downhill and exist only to sell copies. The narration is undoubtedly good but nothing that spectacular. I’m sick to death of people recommending this series especially after this installment. Reddit rec groups need to shut up about these books already. They’re just okay. And this one is just awful.

Historia
Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

Historia
After a devastating accident and a long stay in the hospital, the last thing petroleum engineer Sean Wilkinson wants to deal with is the settlement the oil company tries to force on him. He'll never be able to work in his field again, his education is all but useless, and his surgeons are pessimistic about whether he'll ever walk again. He needs someone in his corner, but most lawyers take one look at his tattoo-covered father and turn their backs. It's just Sean's luck that the one attorney willing to give him a chance is also the hottest guy he's ever seen.

Awful narrator
Revisado: 05-11-21
The narrator reads like a middle schooler with random pauses and no idea of pacing. Omg. Evidently if you learn to ignore the periods, add random ones to the middle of sentences, read at ridiculously top speed, plus do nothing to differentiate between character voices then any random person can narrate!! Maybe I’ll pick up the hobby.

Lame story, inadequate narrator
Revisado: 04-29-21
The narrator follows the pattern of way too many narrator of not reading fluently or conversationally. It strikes me as the reading level that elementary school students typically reach when they read “See Skip run.” The reader pauses after every verb whether or not it’s the end of a sentence or idea, but also doesn’t pause at the end of a sentence. I’m not quite sure anymore how narrators get chosen for audiobooks because I’ve run across so many dismal ones like this quite frequently. The voices of side characters was pretty ridiculous as well. This definitely isn’t a professional actor if the voice acting and reading level is any indication. The story itself was cheesy and slow and the narrator did nothing to make it better.
