Historia
In lively prose that is as engaging as it is illuminating, Dattner tells a host of true stories of those he has worked with - from the woman who was so scapegoated by her colleagues that she decided to quit, to the clueless boss who was too quick to blame his staff. He shares a wealth of insight from the study of human evolution and psychology to reveal the underlying reasons why people are so prone to blaming and credit-grabbing; it's not only human nature, it's found throughout the animal kingdom.

Important Corporate Team Read
Revisado: 11-02-16
Would you listen to Credit and Blame at Work again? Why?
Yes. Lots of statistics to back-up why taking responsibility is not only inter-personally advantageous, it is also financially advantageous.
What other book might you compare Credit and Blame at Work to and why?
Margaret Morford "Management Courage"
What does Todd Gaddy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Great while traveling
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
This will most-likely not be a film, however... "The Blame-Game" is a great title.
Any additional comments?
I would recommend this book for any corporate team and especially the C-Suite. The book demonstrates that even if a person or a business has no other goal for take responsibility than increased profit, it works. Altruism is not necessary to stop the "Blame-Game"- but... it helps if you have it.

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway - a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Movie better than book
Revisado: 11-02-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Probably an accountant or coder.
What could Andy Weir have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
He obviously did it... He sold the rights to turn it into a screenplay.
How could the performance have been better?
The performance was good...too technical for too long.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Martian?
Scenes were good... just too technical

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

For Sci-Fi Enthusiasts
Revisado: 11-02-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend to a Sci-Fi enthusiast only. The best character in the book is the house itself. It is a fun exploration of it. The explorers, however, are a bit one-dimensional.
If you’ve listened to books by Peter Clines before, how does this one compare?
This was my first...so, can't compare
Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I don't believe I have. He was great except for the parts where he had to read the lines attributed to the creatures in the "other" dimension: "My-food, my cattle....." He read those alien creature lines as best as possible... I think that the bleeding from all orifices as the creature flew by was freaky enough... not sure if the feed-me-Seymour-esk lines were necessary.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I really liked the exploration of the apartment building
Any additional comments?
It was fun... but the only thing memorable would be the apartment building...the best character of all.

I really liked this story
Revisado: 11-02-16
What did you love best about Lovecraft Country?
I liked the historical backdrop of race relations between white and black America. The story is fun and enlightening at the same time.
What other book might you compare Lovecraft Country to and why?
Best description? It is a combination of the series "Charmed" meets "The Help".
Which character – as performed by Kevin Kenerly – was your favorite?
I liked Ruby and Letitia, but all of the characters were rich with dimension without sacrificing laser focus on plot
Who was the most memorable character of Lovecraft Country and why?
Ruby and Letitia - Loved their bickering... All the characters were fun and witty.
Any additional comments?
This is one of the few books that I have read where the protagonists are non-white. I am so glad that I did. Without heavy-handedness, the author was able to weave-in the horrors of being the feared "other" (being black in the 1950's) and in-the-wrong-place-at-wrong-time. As a result, my empathy rose while reading about our not-so-distant past. Regardless of the social implications of this book, it stands out as being a very-very fun read.

Historia
A breakneck race against time…and an implacable enemy. An anonymous young woman murdered in a run-down hotel, all identifying characteristics dissolved by acid. A father publicly beheaded in the blistering heat of a Saudi Arabian public square. A notorious Syrian biotech expert found eyeless in a Damascus junkyard. Smoldering human remains on a remote mountainside in Afghanistan. A flawless plot to commit an appalling crime against humanity. One path links them all, and only one man can make the journey. Pilgrim.

A fun yet unbelievable ride
Revisado: 11-02-16
Would you consider the audio edition of I Am Pilgrim to be better than the print version?
Yes. I started the print version and had to put it down... It was not keeping my attention. I could hardly believe it since there are sooo many amazing reviews out there. After reading more amazing reviews, I decided to buy the audible version since I travel frequently and would be a captive audience while driving. So, my review is a combination of reading and listening.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
There were moments that I did skip a few pages while reading. I thought "okay...Terry (author) now you are going to tell me another story to bring more superhuman credibility to your protagonist?" I think that some of those resume-building stories could have been edited. In terms of the most interesting aspect of the story? I think the great plot demonstrating the tenuous nature of our security from biological warfare provided great impact.
Which character – as performed by Christopher Ragland – was your favorite?
I liked villain's son. I thought that the author brought a since of humanity to the book and the villain's sister. I believe these two characters gave more dimensions to the villain.
If you could take any character from I Am Pilgrim out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I think I would take Pilgrim's adoptive father out to dinner and then to go buy street-art that he likes. It would be an entertaining and profitable lunch.
Any additional comments?
I work with special forces in the military and nobody (I mean nobody) has the magical fortune and extraordinary perceptions that Pilgrim has. The reader must suspend belief in the reality of typical investigations to follow the Pilgrim-ride. Since a majority of the book is the protagonists journey down memory-lane....a Pilgrim casting call would most likely boil-down to Bruce Willis, Nicolas Cage and Liam Neeson (if they write in a daughter): Just add more explosions and shooting.

Did a 5th grader write this book?
Revisado: 06-18-15
Would you try another book from Thomas Malcom and/or Steve Ryan?
Absolutely not
What was most disappointing about Thomas Malcom’s story?
Simple sentences. "See Spot Run". "Run Spot Run".
How did the narrator detract from the book?
It seemed as if the narrator was reading the book cold. As if he had never read the page he was reading. I felt like I was in 2nd grade listening to someone who was struggling with written language.
Any additional comments?
A monumental waste of time
