Historia
To eight-year-old Bela, her family is her world. There’s Mommy, Daddo, and Grandma Ruth. But there is also Other Mommy, a malevolent entity who asks her every day: “Can I go inside your heart?” When horrifying incidents around the house signal that Other Mommy is growing tired of asking Bela the question over and over, Bela understands that unless she says yes, her family will soon pay. Other Mommy is getting restless, stronger, bolder. Only the bonds of family can keep Bela safe, but other incidents show cracks in her parents’ marriage. The safety Bela relies on is about to unravel.

SLOW DOWN TO .90x SPEED!!!
Revisado: 06-26-24
This book is now one of my new favorites ever! Made me feel for this little girl and her family. Slowing the speed makes it easier to listen to and makes it creepier. The narrator did an amazing job 😊

Historia
Two hours before he vanished, Mark Dixon stole a glass of wine. That's what bartender Sophie Braam told the cops when they questioned her about the customer whose mutilated body was just found. What she didn’t tell them is that she’s the one who killed him. Officer Nora Martin is new to the Bellair Police Department and when she meets Sophie, they build an uneasy camaraderie over shared frustrations. As winter slides into spring and bodies start piling up, Nora begins to suspect that something’s not quite right with the unnerving, enigmatic bartender.

Wow
Revisado: 04-15-23
I found this book while reading an article by the author on horror art. The article was so interesting that when I saw that the author had written a horror novel herself, I needed to check it out. I had no idea that the story would take place in my neck of the woods (I live in that valley) or that the whole theme of the book would be apt for me. It's interesting that it's difficult to decide who is really the villain in this book. Without giving anything away, I'd say that for me personally, the villain is an idea more than an individual. All women should read this book!

Historia
Episode Thirteen takes them to every ghost hunter's holy grail: the Paranormal Research Foundation. This brooding, derelict mansion holds secrets and clues about bizarre experiments that took place there in the 1970s. It's also famously haunted, and the team hopes their scientific techniques and high tech gear will prove it. But as the house begins to reveal itself to them, proof of an afterlife might not be everything Matt dreamed of.

I listen to a lot of audiobooks and most of them are horror. This audiobook did not disappoint in it's creepiness and the scientific debates about what happens when we die. Because found footage has to be hard to write and perform in an audio-only format, it doesn't sound like an audiobook. I got a podcast or documentary vibe from it and it worked for me. I definitely recommend to ghost hunting fans 👻

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Amazing! Top notch writing. Story was unique and never boring. I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks and this one of the best narrators I've heard (second only to Steven Weber and Luke Smitherd 😊). I recommend this book no matter what genre you prefer. I even learned about physics!! 😃

Historia
The afterlife doesn't come with a manual. In fact, Hart and Bowler (two ordinary but dead men) have had to work out the rules of their new existence for themselves. It's that fact (along with being unable to leave the boundaries of their city center, unable to communicate with the other lost souls, unable to rest in case The Beast catches up with them) that makes getting out of their situation a priority. But Hart and Bowler don't know why they're there in the first place; if they ever want to leave, they will have to find all the answers to be able to understand the physics of the dead.

Conflicted
Revisado: 06-18-21
I don't write reviews, but needed to about this book. I was unable to put it down for most of it. So, yes, it's interesting, engaging, and entertaining...until the author mindf**ks you. And normally, I love those books with huge unexpected twists that I don't see coming. The difference between those books and this one is that the ending felt wrong and unsatisfying. In fact it pissed me off and made me want to throw it like i would have had it been a physical copy. 😒 I liked the main character (even if she was so pathetically weak as a person) and was happy to see character growth. But then...UGH!!! This book makes you think about it once its over, in fact it is one story many will read again 😉

Historia
After a bizarre and disturbing incident at the funeral of matriarch Marian Savage, the McCray and Savage families look forward to a restful and relaxing summer at Beldame, on Alabama's Gulf Coast, where three Victorian houses loom over the shimmering beach. Two of the houses are habitable, while the third is slowly and mysteriously being buried beneath an enormous dune of blindingly white sand. But though long uninhabited, the third house is not empty. Inside, something deadly lies in wait.

Hard to put down
Revisado: 04-18-21
This is a well done haunted house story (which are so hit or miss.)At first, the way the main character spoke to his daughter and treated her more like a roommate or friend than 13 year old girl was off-putting and made their relationship seem very unlikely. After finishing the story though, I know it had to be that way and inevitably made me love the man and his daughter both individually and as a unit. Perfect narration!
