I liked this book start to finish but I have to say as the book progressed, I couldn't stop listening. I was surprised to get goosebumps at the finale of the story. I really liked the narration as well. Very clear and easy to listen to.

Didn't want this book to end.

The Dutch House was a captivating story that was enhanced by Tom Hank's narration. I looked forward to listening to it whenever I had the chance which was usually when I was driving in the car. Tom Hanks is so believable that I felt he actually was the person in the book telling his story. I highly recommend this book as have many others.

Inspirational and Refreshing

Alan Arkin shares some of his experiences with what is beyond what we have explanations for. I found his candidness gave you the feeling that you were sitting in a room with him as he talked to you about his life and how meditation can be a life-changing practice. I have also found this to be true so I could relate to what Mr. Arkin was saying. I loved every minute of this book and it has inspired me to be more conscientious about taking the time to have regular meditations.

It's like spending personal time with Steve.

I enjoyed every minute of this book. Steve Martin was so candid about his life, his career, and his feelings. I always liked Steve Martin as an entertainer and movie star, and it was so surprising to me to hear about his personal struggles throughout his life and career. Loved this audio book and the fact that it was narrated by Steve himself.

Very different story line

I enjoyed this book because it was so unique and unpredictable. It took place in an unusual setting in the marshlands of North Carolina. I thought the narration was excellent. I would rate this as one of my favorites.

Enjoyable Story

This is a good book for sisters to read. It may relate to some feelings sisters have. It is also about family and how important family members are to each other. It is also about friends and how good the support of friends can be. I liked the story in general and the characters. Characters lacking in depth

I did like the beginning and setting of the story and I liked the characters at the beginning but I was disappointed that there wasn’t more to the plot and the individual character development. I found it hard to relate to any of the characters. I am glad I read the book, though, and would still recommend it.

Educational, compelling story about Afghanistan

I learned so much about what life has been like in Afghanistan and I felt so sad for what the people have had to endure. The characters in the the story are strong. I respect the women and how they have had a life of hardship and faced a constant fight for survival. I looked forward to listening to this book although it was hard to listen to at times due to the injustice. I thought the narrator did an excellent job. I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially women.
