As the day dawns on the fiftieth annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem. This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes. Historia
It’s been a rough year for Alex Collins. In the past twelve months, he’s lost his best friend, become the target of the two biggest bullies at school, and been sentenced to community service. But on June 25, 2013, he gets a call for help from Cassie Ramirez, the prettiest girl in school. At last, he feels like his luck might be changing. Cassie is at the Texas State Capitol to protest Wendy Davis’s historic filibuster of the abortion bill HB2, and she’s rallying everyone she knows to join her.

Insightful

Insightful way to explore the topic of abortion from a character who knew nothing on the topic. Great questions with answers from both sides of the aisle and told through the story of interesting teenagers who had difficult, yet relatable experiences.

Historia
Titan was one of the nation's most loved and respected Heroes, until an infidelity scandal tore his image and family apart. After decades spent out of the limelight, Owen Daniels has decided to take up the mantle of Titan once again to try and make amends for his years away. Unfortunately, the Titan Scandal is still common knowledge, and no Hero team wants such a polarizing figure.

Not bad, some repeated audio glitches tho
Revisado: 10-13-22
I like the back story on Titan here. Slightly weaker writing and attention to detail than the Super Powereds books, but still a good read. There were a few sections of the audio that repeated, that someone forgot to delete in editing.

Historia
At first, Logan Ramsay isn’t sure if anything’s different. He just feels a little . . . sharper. Better able to concentrate. Better at multitasking. Reading a bit faster, memorizing better, needing less sleep. But before long, he can’t deny it: Something’s happening to his brain. To his body. He’s starting to see the world, and those around him—even those he loves most—in whole new ways. The truth is, Logan’s genome has been hacked. And there’s a reason he’s been targeted for this upgrade.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 07-15-22
I love the science geek in Blake Crouch. Precise seconds referenced or specific muscles and disorders. It’s like studying that’s actually fun! It’s always enjoyable reading his books. I enjoyed this story and the narrator, who really brought the story to life for me.

Historia
In the 25th century, humankind has spread throughout the galaxy, monitored by the watchful eye of the U.N. While divisions in race, religion, and class still exist, advances in technology have redefined life itself. Now, assuming one can afford the expensive procedure, a person's consciousness can be stored in a cortical stack at the base of the brain and easily downloaded into a new body (or "sleeve") making death nothing more than a minor blip on a screen.

Too much bass
Revisado: 07-28-21
It’s not a bad story and the voicing was done well. The problem is the mix of the audio. There’s far too much bass and the volume is too low which makes it hard to hear in certain conditions.

Historia
The long-awaited new novel from Margaret Atwood. The Year of the Flood is a dystopic masterpiece and a testament to her visionary power. The times and species have been changing at a rapid rate, and the social compact is wearing as thin as environmental stability. Adam One, the kindly leader of the God's Gardeners - a religion devoted to the melding of science and religion, as well as the preservation of all plant and animal life - has long predicted a natural disaster that will alter Earth as we know it. Now it has occurred, obliterating most human life.

Musical numbers?
Revisado: 03-28-21
The story as it was assembled (present vs past for different characters) was a bit hard to follow at times. The Adam1 singing was distracting and annoying as I don’t expect musical numbers in an audio book.

Historia
Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads - his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad - and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you. In the 20th anniversary edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy.

Interesting Mindset
Revisado: 03-01-21
It’s interesting to retrain the brain in different ways than how we were raised. I’ll now explore more.
Regarding the audio book version, the narration was top notch. The structure of the book for audio purposes was a bit odd. The recap at the end of each chapter was basically the chapter being retold in the third person and it made me wonder if I had hit rewind at first. I’ve seen many reviews saying that it would be nice to have the PDF that’s referred to. It’s included!! If you tap on chapters and scroll all the way up to the top, that’s where the PDF is stored.

Some New, Some Repeated
Revisado: 06-10-20
I really liked learning about John Paul and Theresa, as well as the first meeting between ender and Jane. I didn’t understand why we got the same story of ender in battle school and at Command school as we did in the original enders game. Felt like a waste. Also the music they had overlaid at different points in the audiobook was so loud that you couldn’t even hear the audio of the book itself. This book wasn’t really worth it.

Historia
Xenocide is the third installment of the Ender series. On Lusitania, Ender found a world where humans and pequeninos and the Hive Queen could all live together; where three very different intelligent species could find common ground at last. Or so he thought. But Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus which kills all humans it infects, but which the pequeninos require in order to transform into adults.

Good continuance of the series but least favorite. Here’s why..
Revisado: 05-08-20
The vocal performers did a great job conveying the self pitying, woe is me, self centeredness of each of the characters. The problem with this story is really in that it was written with so much of that. It was really hard to tolerate the characters themselves.

Historia
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Fell in love
Revisado: 03-11-18
I read a lot but this had to be the very best book I’ve ever read/listened to. I laughed, I cried, I got angry, I yelled, and I fell in love with the characters. I’d seen the movie and now have fallen in love with the book. Perfectly narrated.
