A Love Letter to Metal and Misbegotten Hopes

This one melded heavy metal with horror in an utterly organic way that kept me hooked from start to finish. It's more than a paean to the "satanic panic" that I lived through -- the ramifications of which can be measured still -- it's a nod to the capacity to keep striving in the face of ever widening odds no matter how glowering they may be.

An Entrancing Story About What Is -- and What Isn't -- Sentience

Was quite taken with the melding of real-world yet nascent AI concerns and hopes with the aspect of a truly earthly sentience that isn't of humanity. The character exploration is richly detailed, garnering an appreciation for them, particularly those that appear human but are not.

A Most Entertaining Splash Into Lovecraftian Mythos

A Thoroughly Bonkers Tale From Start to End That Had Laugh-Aloud Moments

Tom Stranger was acquired on a lark and proved worthwhile. It’s frenetic pacing, laugh-aloud dialogue and just utter weirdness was totally entertaining from start to finish. Lots of solid one-liners and nods to pop culture, along with excellent narration made it fun to listen to.

A well-seasoned lark combining the elements of Lovecraftian dread with Indiana Jones

A Classic No Matter the Genre

Snow Crash has become an embedded classic of the cyberpunk genre, and given its expansive scope coupled with detailed character development, it's easy to see why. This version captures every nuance of the story and does so in a riveting manner that leaves one breathless at times.
