Travelogue aspect made it hours too long

Hours should have been axed d/t travelogue aspect. And when did she take up fitness? The forced proximity (least fave trope) got a bit much. Do not feel the need to relisten to this like the previous four. Just glad didn't end on huge hanger.

Another trilogy is a good thing

I guess this story arc will be a trilogy what with the open ending. A lot of telling vs showing esp with she is supposed to be rare/more experienced now but maybe next book. A mere glimpse of Gallowglass was not nearly enough.

Jennifer Ikeda always brings it.

YA/NA Kate Daniels Lite in Space

Wanted to dnf/return so hard but so many 5*s. Just knew it wouldn't be a fit when the reader is told that mc has a hard stare. A lot of telling w/o the showing to back it up. Ugh. She's basically taken prisoner but goes along and starts treating them like friends instead of trying to escape since she's so tough??? The "he likes you but you don't see it", "everybody wants her" & "they're talking about you" tropes made this so juvenile. I usually like sarcasm and humor if done well. I never smiled once. There was absolutely no chemistry to be found for the supposed attraction . And what reader doesn't enjoy being bashed over the head with adjectives every.time.love interest appears? The finale action scenes elevated this 1*.

Narrator did it no favors what so ever. Her throat seemed constricted and she was choking. Graydon sounded like an 80 year old crone with a 6 pack a day habit. All the males did which made them indistinguishable.

Gore porn overkill and navel gazing really put the brakes on the action/thriller aspect. Loved BM & LL so hard.

Something missing after Bullet

I didn't want Bullet to ever end and slowed speed down to 1.3. This was 1.7 or higher at times.

Fiona Shaw was whispery again and had to reference the book to understand what Joyce was confiding at times.

Still September can't get here fast enough.

The chemistry is def missing

This is my third listen of the series. I still don't get the frizzy hair attraction so chemistry was def lacking. It was still enjoyable like visiting with old friends.

There was something missing, maybe chemistry. Oliver came across as especially weak. Still SAA's average is loads better than a majority published.

Siiri Scott has improved, at least she attempts accents. 2.25 speed helped.
