Historia
One L, Scott Turow's journal of his first year at law school and a best seller when it was first published in 1977, has gone on to become a virtual bible for prospective law students. Not only does it introduce with remarkable clarity the ideas and issues that are the stuff of legal education; it also brings alive the anxiety and competitiveness, with others and, even more, with oneself, that set the tone in this crucible of character building.

A 0L Must Read
Revisado: 05-18-22
In 2022, it's is remarkable to me how much this book still resonates with law students and their experience, regardless of the law school they attend. I read this looking for more of a mental preparation for dreaded 1st year we hear so much about. I wanted my wife to listen to it so she has some kind of reference for the massive undertaking that is law school and the toll it could take, so that we can prepare, as much as possible, for the next few years. Scott's insight gives me some nerves but mostly provides a kind of mental support that allows me to know my experience isn't singular and isn't that what what we all want....to know we aren't the only ones, that we aren't in it alone. If you are thinking of going to law school, about to start law school or know someone who is, get this book.

Historia
Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.

Just Buy It!
Revisado: 07-06-21
Ok y'all, so love me a good lesbian romance, and have over 75 of them in my audible library. When looking for my next listen I was as hesitant as others when I saw the length of this one. I read over the reviews though and saw so many say it's the best, a favorite, a top pick for them. So, naturally I ignored them and got When You Least Expect It first to make sure I would like this author (as I already know Lori is my jam). Cass didn't disappoint and as soon as I finished that book I got this one.
Ladies, the reviews were right. Yes this book is long, and yes it's now a favorite if not THE favorite of my collection. I felt like I was watching a series or movie...so much character development, supporting roles, and background. It keeps you so engaged. I wouldn't consider myself super emotional, but I found myself reacting to this story...laughing while jogging in the park, crying while listening in bed (making my poor wife think something was wrong). Sutton is so lovable and sweet and I've known people like her... adorably clueless. Charlotte I connected more with as she's more reflective of my personality....and them together is perfect.
Cass, you've got it all going for you. If these first few books are any indication of what's to come in the future, you've got nothing but success headed your way. Congrats.... I look forward to your next read.

Historia
As winemaker at Tangle Valley Vineyard, Madison LeGrange relies on science and logic to make the best vintage possible. It’s also how she manages her life. But with her career in its prime, her accountant thinks it’s time she diversifies her income. Not a problem because her favorite café, the Bacon and Biscuit, is up for sale. What she didn’t plan on was the time she’d spend with Clementine, who has her feeling anything but logical.

Tangled Valley, it's been a pleasure.
Revisado: 06-11-21
A wonderful conclusion to the stories of the Tangled Valley Winery. This one is just as engaging and fun as the first two, with more investment from a reader who already has love for Madison. Brayden does such a great job setting a scene without being overly cheesey or unrealistic. Her candor of internal thoughts for the characters really builds the reliability and I appreciate the imperfect perfection of the women she writes about...all have flaws, all have quirks, but the common theme of humanity, compassion, and self reflection I think mirrors reality in a way other writes don't always hit the mark on.
It's not surprising that Sternenberg once again makes this an easy listen. Man I would listen to her read the dictionary... I love me a good lesbian romance, but something about a select few favorite narrators (Sternenberg, Prince, Craden,) really wraps me into the story regardless of what I'm doing while listening.
I'll eagerly await the next Brayden/Sternenberg pairing!

Historia
Life has become a farcical mess for icy British A-lister Elizabeth Thornton. America's most-hated villain stars in a top-rated TV medical drama that she hates. Now, she's been romantically linked to her perky, new co-star, Summer, due to the young woman's clumsiness. As a closeted actress, that's the last thing Elizabeth needs. If she could just get her dream movie role, life would be so much better. The only problem is that the eccentric French film-maker offering it insists on meeting her "girlfriend", Summer, first.

Awesome!!
Revisado: 07-27-20
This was my first book by this author, and it's the best out of the 25 or so romantic books in my library right now. She does a great job of making her characters believable without being over the top or too cliché. I laughed out loud with this book, smiled, and fist bumped the air a couple times. It's awesome and I love that she uses several supporting roles that have their own substance. Her book is a few hours longer than many other lesbian romance writers but she used that time wisely...to create a great story with relatable characters. Great Read...now I'm off to see if I can find more by her.

Historia
Hannah Shephard likes her life, her job, and her perfectly cozy apartment around the corner from her shop. She’s never been one to take big risks and would much rather stay in on a Friday night with a warm cup of decaf and her favorite mystery novel. So, why do her friends insist she needs more? Plus, Hannah has bigger problems to focus on. She’s in trouble. Well, her bookstore is, and if she doesn’t find a way to bring in some more cash, she’ll be closing the doors of A Likely Story for good.

Historia
Captain Sabine Fleischer is a skilled and dedicated US Army surgeon deployed to a combat hospital in Afghanistan. She is also one of the thousands of troops who are forced to serve in silence because of the military's anti-gay policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT)". Usually driven and focused, Sabine finds that battles raging both inside and outside are making it more and more difficult for her to deal with her emotions. Dealing with loss and mortality, lack of privacy, sleep deprivation, loneliness, and the isolation forced on her by Don't Ask, Don't Tell are all taking their toll.

I'm becoming addicted
Revisado: 01-03-20
This is only my second book by Noyes. I've become a big fan. I've o ly ever listened to audiobooks by Noyes but Craden is my favorite narrator of any of the audiobooks I've ever listened to. She does such an amazing job of inflection without over selling and realism without boredom. I cant wait to read more books by Noyes and listen to more books narrated by Craden. Great story and I listened to the whole book over two days... on to the next!!
