Historia
In The Case of the Case of Kilcladdich, golden-age gadabout Anty Boisjoly travels to the timeless source waters of Glen Glennegie to help decide the fate of his family’s favourite ferment, but an impossible locked room murder is only one of a multitude of mysteries that try Anty’s wits and witticisms to their northern limit. Time trickles down on the traditional tipple as Anty unravels family feuds, ruptured romance, shepherdless sheep, and a series of suspiciously surfacing secrets to sort out who killed whom and how and why and who might be next to die.

Superb Narration!
Revisado: 03-10-25
I absolutely love the character Anty Boisjoly (like the wine region). Tim Bruce truly brings Anty and every other character to life. His accents are incredible; English, French, Scottish, and especially Drunk. The drunk scene has me laughing every time I hear it! I've listened to this book at least a dozen times.
I also love that I learn so much from each book; in this one - the distillation of whiskey and old Scottish slang like "pan loafy".
And I just adore Vickers (spelling?). As with Anty, Tim Bruce's narration paints a vivid picture of Vickers. I love him. I wish Vickers was real and he took care of me in the adorably forgetful and loyal way that he attends to Anty.
I can't get enough of this series!

Historia
It’s a classic, manor house, mystery-within-a-locked-room-mystery for Anty Boisjoly when a death is foretold by a mystic that Anty’s sure is a charlatan. But when an impossible murder follows the foretelling, Anty and his old ally and nemesis Inspector Wittersham must sift the connivance, contrivance, misguidance, and faith in pseudoscience of the household and its haunted history before the killer strikes again.

Witty Sarcasm with phenomenal Narration
Revisado: 02-23-25
I usually just put 5 stars and not write anything but I can't say enough about how much I've enjoyed this series. the intelligent wit cracks me up. I've listened to them all several times and end up catching something new.
the narration is absolutely fantastic! totally spot on!
the storys are terrific. the character descriptions are so vivid that I can see them - even if I have to go back a few times to hear them again, since I laugh so much.
you can't go wrong with Anty Boisjoly (like the wine region).

Love the characters but....
Revisado: 06-26-24
I really enjoy the characters and i love England, the setting, and the era but the nonchalant view on the killing of a pet - even joking about it - was awful.
I'll listen to the next ones because i truly do like the characters. I just hope this isn't a recurring theme

I LOVE this series!!! Suberb stories AND storyteller!!!
Revisado: 05-03-24
I can't get enough of this series!! I am a thrift shop addict, as was my mom - thrift shops, yard sales, antique shops - we loved the treasure hunt.
The characters are absolutely fantastic. I love that there aren't annoying romatic entanglments that could distract from the stories - the characters can be authentic on their own - flaws and all. Partial Sue's backstory is so touching and the author describes depression in a way that I've never been able to explain of my own. Fiona's acceptance of "It" truly gives her a depth that characters in most books don't reach.
The narrator's voices, cadence, all of it, just spot on!!! She brings life to the gals; humor, sarcasm, and even the frustration i think we all have felt at times of throwing something heavy (like a shopping cart) through the property (window) of a nemesis.
Last but certainly not least, the imagery is second to none!!!!

Historia
“You shouldn’t be here. It’s too late....” These, heard over the phone, were the last recorded words of successful celebrity-divorce lawyer Richard Pryce, found bludgeoned to death in his bachelor pad with a bottle of wine - a 1982 Chateau Lafite worth £3,000, to be precise. Odd, considering he didn’t drink. Why this bottle? And why those words? And why was a three-digit number painted on the wall by the killer? And, most importantly, which of the man’s many, many enemies did the deed?
