I have followed this story since I read Hall of the Moutian King when I was kid. It has always stuck with me as a parable of what can go wrong on an adventure. through no.fault of any one. I have gone climbing all over the world including Alaska over the years and this story has stuck with me l.

My favorite climbing book

My mom worked part time at the library down the street from our quarters on Fort Leavenworth, KS. She was a voracious reader and brought home 10-15 books every couple of weeks. I would go through them and read any that caught my attention. The Mountain of my Fear caught my attention, fifty years later it is still my favorite and the book that started my interest in climbing. I have climbed all around the world, including Alaska and this book was the start of all of it. David Robert's is a tremendous writer. I used it have a extensive collection of climbing literature and a first edition of this book was included.

This has been one of my favorite books since high school.

I don't know exactly what first made me have such a strong reaction to this book. I love the relationship between the two boys and their relationship with their fathers. Interpersonal relationship are a big part of Chaim Potoks novels. Let me put a quick thumbs-up to my favorite book by Mr. Potok, My name is Asher Lev, Easily one of the best books I have ever read. And I have read a lot. I should note that I have a stroke in 2018 and that's when I discovered Audible. Reading a "real" book is a struggle in my current condition, my right side is essentially paralyzed. So holding and turning pages is a pain in the butt for me. Audible is a true god-send for me.

Stuart Wood is so smooth, working my way through the Stone Barrington series. I always enjoy his books, I love how he brings his other characters into other series. Stone is my favorite though.
