Historia
Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. It can let you hold down a day job, true, but sometimes the night "life" can be more than a little difficult, what with those bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts kicking in.

Sooo boring
Revisado: 07-01-17
I kept thinking if I continued to listen something would happen...yes it does happen....just very slowly. The constant inner monologue is too much.
On the other hand the story has good bones....and is refershingly different....but too drawn out.

Historia
Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren't for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it arose. Kate Daniels works for the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid, officially as a liaison with the mercenary guild. Unofficially, she cleans up the paranormal problems no one else wants to handle - especially if they involve Atlanta's shapeshifting community.

Fantastic
Revisado: 03-02-15
I have read all the Kate Daniels books, and this is by far my favorite. Having read the books already it took a long time to warm to the narrator. Now that I am used to her style I am loving every minute of it! Can't wait to listen to the next book and can't wait for Ilona to write the next one in the series!

In his new life as a bartender at the Little Shamrock, Dismas Hardy is just hoping for a little peace. He's left both the police force and his law career behind. Unfortunately it's not as easy to leave behind the memory of a shattering personal loss - but for the time being, he can always take the edge off with a stiff drink and a round of darts.

Dead Boring!!!
Revisado: 04-24-13
Tried several times to get into the story. Not sure if the narrator was just TOO boring or if the story line was too boring, either way I never finished it!

Historia
The Master of Natchez, Mississippi has a nasty problem on his hands. Rogue vampires - those who follow the Naturaleza and believe that humans should be nothing more than prey to be hunted - are terrorizing his city. Luckily, he knows the perfect skinwalker to call in to take back the streets. But what he doesn’t tell Jane is that there’s something different about these vamps. Something that makes them harder to kill - even for a pro like Jane.

Wow, Jane does it again!
Revisado: 04-24-13
Great to see Jane at it in another city with the same old crew, and nice to see some new characters (eg Sole). Good relationship between Jane and Eli and the Kid. LOTS of sexual tension between Jane and Bruiser and Rick. Not enough of Beast.

Interesting and Punchy
Revisado: 10-29-12
What did you love best about Skinwalker?
I loved the main character Jane and was really pleased that she wasn't just some slutty stereotype like a lot of other paranormal fantasy main characters.
What did you like best about this story?
The whole American Indian Story leaves you wanting to find out more about Jane and her past...
What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Really great naration, I am sure that it is difficult when switching between Beast and Jane and she does it with ease.

Dead Boring
Revisado: 09-16-12
What would have made The Land of Painted Caves better?
It would have been better if it wasn't so slow.
Any additional comments?
The story is so slow, there are so many possibilities....Clan of the Cave Bear was so good and the next few books, then this one just rambles on an on.

Historia
In a world of witches, daemons and vampires the fragile balance of peace is unravelling. Diana and Matthew's forbidden love has broken the laws dividing creatures. To discover the manuscript which holds their hope for the future, they must now travel back to the past. When Diana Bishop, descended from a line of powerful witches, discovered a significant alchemical manuscript in the Bodleian Library, she sparked a struggle in which she became bound to long-lived vampire Matthew Clairmont. Now the coexistence of witches, daemons, vampires and humans is dangerously threatened.

Great book, fantastic characters
Revisado: 09-10-12
Would you recommend Shadow of Night to your friends? Why or why not?
A great witch/vampire novel....not the same soppy love story that is becoming all too popular. Great depth of characters and well researched historically.
What does Jennifer Ikeda bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Wonderful accents, well done.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I couldn't wait to get back into the car to listen more.
