Historia
Everyone from Wakarusa, Indiana, remembers the infamous case of January Jacobs, who was discovered in a ditch hours after her family awoke to find her gone. Margot Davies was six at the time, the same age as January—and they were next-door neighbors. In the twenty years since, Margot has grown up, moved away, and become a big-city journalist. But she’s always been haunted by the feeling that it could’ve been her. And the worst part is, January’s killer has never been brought to justice.

Repetitive with disappointing ending
Revisado: 11-20-22
The author should proofread this book. Distress is all too consistently related to nails digging into palms. The story drags a bit, but provides interesting turns. However the ending is simply cruel to the reader. After all the details included that related to angst, to end the book so abruptly and without closure just says to me that the author wasn’t sure how to conclude the story so just stopped.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Delightfully gripping
Revisado: 12-03-21
As many have already written, the narrator was phenomenal. But, it was the story itself that engaged and drew me in. Yes, the main character’s anxiety was sometimes over the top and the ending probably predictable, but one could never be sure. I certainly wasn’t spot on! This is a delightful and entertaining read.

narration not up to parr
Revisado: 04-24-21
Bring back Pearl Hewitt! If you hadn't heard the other stories in this series, I suppose the narration of this one wouldn't seem off, but it sure does to me. Both of Rosalind's male concerns sound exactly the same. In fact, all the men's voices are strained and forced. I desperately miss the clear and talented rendition of the first three novels. While the narrator never stumbled or made herself overtly obvious, this muddied reading took a great deal of the pleasure out of listening to the book.

Historia
The picturesque Cotwsold village of Winter Parva has decided to warm the post-Christmas season by roasting a pig in the town square. The "pig," in fact, is Gary Beech, a policeman not exactly beloved by the good people of the village. Although Agatha has every intention of leaving matters to the police....

Delightful
Revisado: 03-24-21
Agatha Raisin continues to be an entertaining and completely unlikely heroine. The story is a bit contrived, but it is nonetheless quite entertaining and definitely worth the listen.

Riveting story, excellent reading
Revisado: 10-30-20
No lag time in this book. Every chapter has it’s own drama, culminating in a surprising conclusion. My only disappointment was with the speed all the facts, some of which were revealed for the first time, were presented at the end. Narration perfectly conveyed strength and nature of protagonist . I want to see what next happens with this pair!
