A Book Written in Air Quotes

Was looking forward to listening to new information. And while there was plenty of new information to hear in this book, it was difficult to get through. The author writes from a position of never ending snark. You get the feeling that the end of most of her statements are made with hands raised in air quotes. It's unfortunate too, since people could probably benefit from some of this research compiled into a book that didn't try so hard to be entertaining.

Intriguing story. The story could have easily been turned into an entertaining novel, but the author makes sure to keep things interesting without making you feel like he took creative liberty to do so. Honestly felt like I was reading an article out of Maxim Magazine. I liked it.

Overall it constantly reminded me that it's purpose might have been to sell us on gold. A kitchen junk drawer of a read; IF your junk drawer was filled with old religious booklets, gold coin advertisement brochures and pamphlets from those multilevel marketing seminars you used to go to that were so heavy on the self-help quotes and jargon while never really being clear on what you'd be selling.
Listening to the book got most annoying when the narrator had to read aloud questions and answers to Robert. He'd have to say "Question:......." then "Answer:....." over and over like someone reading a script for their first part in a film forgetting that they don't have to keep saying their character's name before their lines.
That's not to say that I didn't find any useful information in this book, but most of the time it left the listener hanging as Robert moved away from personal finance and onto tangents about his spirituality. There were many mentions of Cryptocurrency, or "The People's Money" but he'd drop the subject just as randomly as he'd bring it up leaving you with a sense that he could have left any mention of it out of the book altogether without anyone missing it. Didn't leave the impression that Cryptocurrency was something he knew much about anyway. I will continue to check out other Rich Dad resources, but this book was far from my favorite.
I'll sum this book up for you all........."Gold.....blah blah.....Gold....Gold...blah blah....God....Gold.....God....Gold...Gold.... The End"

I'll be listening to this one a few times. I learned that most people do not know a thing about Economics. 2nd book I've picked up by this author.

A good education on cannabis in America. Before the pot shops stocked with edibles and pedestrians walking the street with vape pens. When we think about pot we usually think California. But here we have Kentucky. And Kentucky's contribution to cannabis culture shouldn't be understated. And the United States' long overreaching arm of the "law".
It shows you that people like Jonny Boone paid the price for a lot of you to be able to pick up your marijuana like you would pick out a puppy from a pet shop; pointing to the prettiest bud behind the glass and asking to hold in your hand.
The book reads a lot like a television documentary without the reenactments. When I picked it up I thought I'd be hearing the greatest story never told. The author does his best, but doesn't quite make it fun. What it lacks in entertainment it does make up for in historical details though. The narrator gives the book a good presentation.

Not once did I feel like the author veered away from giving an objective view in these essays. And I learned some things about American history, Western History, And World History that I didn't know before. Inspired me towards further exploration.

The narrator was amazing. Clear. Enjoyable to listen to.

Robert Greene, a student in human chess, wrote another great book. This one is a lot more personal. With a look into yourself in every chapter. You can't learn about what's making people around you tick without finding things to internalize here. Great book. Narrator was easy to listen to. I've listened to the 48 Laws on audio and chose to stick with the printed version. This one was presented a lot better.
Back to the author...Greene went deep in this one. So listen more than once. Or listen and read.

Narrator made a big difference in listening to this book. The book was great too. But a lot of times the narrators make audio books a harder listen. This one was a breeze.

Great listen for a subject that is quickly evolving even as the book itself was written. I got a few things from it.

Loved it. Narrator made this book even better than it already would have been on it's own if I'd have read it from it's pages. I've listened to 3 audio books of Norse mythology and this has been my favorite so far.
