Historia
In her small hometown, librarian Ruth Cornier has always felt like an outsider, even as her beloved father rains fire-and-brimstone warnings from the pulpit at Holy Fire Baptist. Unfortunately for Ruth, the only things the townspeople fear more than the God and the Devil are the myths that haunt the area, like the story of the Low Man, a vampiric figure said to steal into sinners' bedrooms and kill them on moonless nights. When a skull is found deep in the swamp next to mysterious carved symbols, Bottom Springs is thrown into uproar.

Dull Narrator
Revisado: 03-06-25
This narrator is extremely difficult to listen to, monotonous tone, boring, no expression. I've restarted this audio numerous times trying to get through it, but not sure I can. I'm sorry for the narrator; maybe she can pick up some pointers from the many others I've listened to that were amazing and entertaining.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

traumatic story mixed with some quirky, comical undertones
Revisado: 05-13-24
Entertaining, sad, funny, makes your stomach twist listening to this mother manipulate her daughter to horrifying extremes so she can ultimately live vicariously through her to satisfy her narcissistic psyche. I only wish her mother could've lived to be a witness to her daughter's public display of this woman's psychotic, greedy, miserable torture of her poor daughter.
