Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

excellent second entry
Revisado: 11-08-23
Luke Daniels is the man, I love every minute of this book. not many books have me marketing several theories as to what's going on let alone several different ones about several different aspects. I am not even going to comment on my theories about the overall series. i love the quotes from the past present and future. A lot of books in the future just use current year and older quotes, using quotes from the books time and in the future of the books time give insight and keep fueling the theories. it is really well done throughout.

Historia
Mihalis finds himself in a new situation—one in which all of the training he's received growing up isn't helping him to cope as much as he'd hoped. He's angry. He's never truly been angry before in his life, and the anger he's dealing with isn't even coming from him! It's coming from the djevels. His lion side, he's discovered, is far less affected by it than his dark elf, which only makes sense when you consider his dark elf heritage. If he wants to pull himself back together, he needs to understand just what he's dealing with and how to manage it.

Excellent series entry
Revisado: 08-30-23
This is a great entry to the series, I love the universe that the two series have built. I also love that in all the violence and sex family is so very important, a person's word is important. One of the things I like about the Mihalus stories is that he might be one of the most powerful people on the planet but he tempers his violence with reason and caring, protecting his family and the led capable, allowing fools to find they're way however that ends and doesn't run around pushing his will on others unnecessarily. Sure you come for him or his family and you will be ripped apart and rightly so, he has doubts about the ethics of his choices, which any same person would do. It makes him seem very real and relatable... Your always rooting for him because despite some of his faults he really tried to be the best man he can be and insure he never crosses veritable lines. You want to be him, you can relate to his actions and you want to sit down and just chill with him and talk about his life... It's something you don't see in a lot of stories... World and character building can be hard but the author has nailed a lot of his characters well, and there are a lot of them. I never feel they are just two dimensional, he even is able to make you think the super models are just two dimensional and then you realize wow there actually nothing like what you would think supermodels or heck even elves would be.... Just... Class act Jan

Not that in don't like Mark But....
Revisado: 02-02-23
I much prefer to keep a narrator through a series and Luke Daniels is almost unequal. What frustrates me is that because Mark has less voices in his tool box and because he narrates another series that I read in kept thinking about the other book series and wondering why the confusion. He did a great job even if I wanted to call the main character James... But if Luke swapped with Mark on that series I would likely have the same complaint. I also know Luke is very busy and highly sought after so this was likely a schedule issue or a desire to get the book out faster or something like that and in those situations the narration can go bad. At least we got a seasoned replacement but I hope the switch isn't permanent going forward, just because the switches can be jarring especially when consuming back to back books in the same series.

Cori Catastrophe. They call me that sometimes, and I hate to admit it, but it isn’t wrong. Things go weird around me. Electronics die, things break, and if something odd happens, I seem to find it. Finding another dead body just made me late to work. Nothing will stop me from getting my degree, getting a job, and getting away from this tiny town - though leaving my best friend will hurt more than anything else. Reality seems determined to make reaching my goals impossible.

Loved the story but...
Revisado: 07-27-22
While the voice actor did a good job voicing characters, there were a large amount of pronunciation mistakes that were hard to overlook. In most cases you might see this and it can be a cultural thing like Guzman. I know Hispanic families with this last name pronounced Goozman. Someone not familiar with Spanish may mispronounce this name and while others may pronounce it Guhzman in have never heard it but can look passed this of not for the several words sometimes in one chapter I had to check the kindle text to make sure I knew what the word was. I think most of the performance is great the mispronounciations could have been rectified by an editorial pass for corrections. Hopefully with experiance this VA will catch these problems and will be a top rated VA but for now, 3.5 starts for her performance. Fix the errors and a solid 5 stars.

The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

Absolutely Amazing Series
Revisado: 05-25-21
The world building is top notch, the characters full of depth, and the abilities to conjure emotional responses from an otherwise stoic grump is masterful. Once in got to chapter... 33 I think it was fifteen full minutes of raucous laughter... Just a few chapters before I shed a few tears... These are downright explosive emotional responses from me... It helps that I see the character as being the guy, John Harlan Kim, from "the librarians" now that I think on it, it's exactly who I had been picturing this entire time... Huh.... Anyway, it's an awesome series that I have listened to every waking hour for the last forty some hours, often skipping sleep to listen, waiting for book three will be torture!

Historia
Kelly Frank is EarthCent's top diplomat on Union Station, but her job description has always been a bit vague. The pay is horrible and she's in hock up to her ears for her furniture, which is likely to end up in a corridor because she's behind on rent for her room. Sometimes she has to wonder if the career she has put ahead of her personal life for 15 years is worth it.

Absolutely Hilarious
Revisado: 12-04-20
I don't know what I was thinking this book would be when I got it, but it's amazing! there are times when books start to feel oppressing in some series because there seems to always be earth shattering problems, sometimes quite literally, and I beef something a little light hearted to beak the funk. This book was all that and more, literally laugh out loud funny, it had drama of more mundane levels, with an eclectic mix of humor of all kinds. Cannot wait to read book two, so.... I won't!
