Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

Historia
Abandoned by her father and neglected by her self-centered, unstable mother, Sheila McGee cannot wait to escape the drudgery of her mill village life in Northern Ireland. Her classic Irish beauty helps her win the 1941 Linen Queen competition, and the prize money that goes with it finally gives her the opportunity she's been dreaming of. But Sheila does not count on the impact of the Belfast blitz which brings World War II to her doorstep. Now even her good looks are useless in the face of travel restrictions, and her earlier resolve is eroded by her ma's fear of being left alone.

Historia
Hardly a day goes by when nine-year-old Laurent Lepage doesn't cry wolf. From alien invasions to walking trees to winged beasts in the woods to dinosaurs spotted in the village of Three Pines, his tales are so extraordinary no one can possibly believe him. Including Armand and Reine-Marie Gamache, who now live in the little Quebec village.

Disappointing…
Revisado: 02-23-23
The narration change is truly disappointing.
I was inclined to stop listening, and probably won’t go further in the series -by audible. As well, the storyline included some absolutely ridiculous choices that suspend disbelief.
I’ve enjoyed listening to each book in the series heretofore-but likely will stop now.

Really bad narrator…
Revisado: 05-28-22
I can’t tell if the cringeworthy aspects of this book are the writing or the narration or both. The narration is particularly bad.
If this is one of your first lawhead books, please keep looking: every other Lawhead book I’ve read has been worth the read or listen.
