Loved it!
Revisado: 12-16-22
My wife loved the book and has been trying to get me to read/listen to it for months. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely authors and they were two of the nicest people you will ever meet! After speaking with them I could not wait to dive into this story. I loved every part of it. From the characters to the insider knowledge the authors bring to the story. From start to finish I had a smile on my face. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Historia
Tom Segura is known for his twisted takes and irreverent comedic voice. But after a few years of crazy tours and churning out podcasts weekly, all while parenting two young children, he desperately needs a second to himself. It’s not that he hates his friends and family — he’s not a monster — he’s just beat, which is why his son’s (ruthless) first full sentence, “I’d like to play alone, please,” has since become his mantra.

I’d like to play alone please review
Revisado: 09-17-22
I wish I could say I was a Fan of Tom Segura from the beginning but sadly that’s a lie. I do however remember the moment I became a fan. I was listening to different comedians on random and Tom Segura came on. Once he said, “yeah but you have four kids” I couldn’t control my laughter. I was instantly a fan. I then found out he had a special called Completely Normal and I watched that countless times. I was beyond excited when I heard about this book and even more excited when I received the book.
If you are already a fan of Tom Segura this is a great book for many reasons. There are some stories that will add a lot of context to some of his jokes we already know and there are stories that you have never heard before, all equally funny. The way he writes he achieves the impossible, you somehow feel his stage presence through written words. This was a book I couldn’t stop laughing while reading. I have read quite a few books like this and this is hands down the most put together and the funniest I have ever experienced.
If anyone close to Tom Segura reads this please “tell that mo’ f**ker I appreciate him”

Police quickly identify a suspect, the boyfriend of one of the victims, who flees and is never seen again.

Night shift review
Revisado: 09-17-22
The Night Shift is a murder mystery that spans 15 years. The book starts with a gruesome murder at a Blockbuster Video where multiple teens are killed. There is a single survivor of the attack who later becomes one of the main characters in the present day. History repeats itself and 15 years later there is another brutal attack, again with a single survivor.
This book throws a lot of characters at you with some similar names which did get confusing. Lucky for me, I was listening to the audiobook and each character is narrated by a different performer so the different voices really helped me distinguish who was who.
The story takes place in New Jersey which is where we currently live. Being familiar with some of the towns and locations really resonated with me and definitely bumped up my enjoyment of the book.
There are a lot of twists and turns and big reveals throughout the book. Some you will see coming and others will really surprise you. Overall the story was great and for me the location was relatable. This is a book I will recommend to anyone.

Historia
Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She's charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (ok, 50 or 60) hours a week, they've become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship.

Hating game review
Revisado: 09-17-22
The hating game is a romantic comedy that I did not expect to like. We read this book because we wanted to watch the movie so we figured let’s start with the book. Not only did I love the book but I also loved the movie.
Lucy and Josh are co workers who hate each other. They also are competing for the same promotion. It’s extremely predictable but was still fun to read. Do they hate each other? Of course, they will get together. Both going for the same promotion? Of course, they will figure out a way that doesn’t divide them.

Historia
Darby Thorne is a college student stranded by a blizzard at a highway rest stop in the middle of nowhere. She’s on the way home to see her sick mother. She’ll have to spend the night in the rest stop with four complete strangers. Then she stumbles across a little girl locked inside one of their parked cars. There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, no way out because of the snow, and she doesn’t know which one of the other travelers is the kidnapper.

No exit review
Revisado: 09-17-22
No Exit is a great book to read on a snowy day. The main character Darby is on her way home to see her sick mother but Mother Nature had other plans for her and she gets stuck in a blizzard. Darby makes it to a rest stop where other people were also waiting out the storm. With no cell service, everyone is stranded here until the roads are cleared. While Darby was in the parking lot trying to get a cell signal she noticed something that will change her life forever. In a van parked in the lot, she sees a young girl locked in the back. Who can Darby trust? Who’s van is this? Who is the girl? This was a great thriller that kept me guessing long after I thought I figured it out. I highly recommend this one.

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Ready player one review
Revisado: 09-17-22
Being a gamer my whole life I understand what adicition to games can be like. Ready player one follows Wade Watts who like most of the world spends almost all of their waking hours in a video game called the oasis.
The creator of the Oasis James Holiday passes away and leaves behinds a contest. The winner willl get control of the oasis. Years go by and no one finds any clues until Wade figures out the first clue and then that’s when everything will change forever,
Not only for Wade but everyone Wade is in contact with.
The game is full of pop culture references that mostly hit the mark. It was a joy to read and listen to. This is a book that I actually read and then listened to the audio book, that’s how much I enjoyed it. If you like games there is no reason you should not be reading this book.

3AM Review
Revisado: 09-17-22
What if you were only awake for one hour a day? Well, that’s what Henry Bins has to deal with. Henry is only awake from 3 AM-4 AM, when 4 AM comes, if Henry is not in bed, he is in for a rough night. 4 AM comes and Henry just collapses and is asleep for the next 23 hours. This alone is a crazy concept and that’s not even the plot of the book.
Right before Henry is about to fall asleep for the night he hears a scream coming from outside, when he goes to see what happened he sees the President of the United States standing there. There was a murder across the street and to Henry and it looks like the only suspect is the President. With only one hour every day Henry works to try to find out what happened and who murdered the woman across the street.
This book was great, it's a very fast read, but I just want to give you a warning. This book is going to make you feel like crap. The reason I say this is because Henry only has 60 minutes a day to not only do what he wants to do, but also what he needs to do, like eat, drink, and shower. With such limited time Henry still goes for a run every day. I have all the time in the world and I never choose to go for a run. This made me question some of my choices, but don’t question your choice, pick up this book and read it.

Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Guest List Review
Revisado: 09-17-22
What do you get when you have a great premise, interesting characters, a great setting, great chapter design, and a book that is 90% about nothing? You get The Guest List.
I was super excited about this book after reading the summary. A murder mystery in a remote location during a wedding was intriguing. Sadly all you get is a bunch of setup for a reveal that was ultimately too convenient. It was definitely a surprising reveal but there was just too much that fit together too easily and I felt it was not earned with how long the book took to get to it.
The Guest List left me wanting more from every aspect of it. It was too promising to be done in this way. I don’t regret my time with the book but I also don’t recommend it.
