Historia
Jane Austen fan Amelia Bennett sneaks away from a dull tour of an English country manor, only to run into a man more dashing than Mr. Darcy himself. About to lose his ancestral home to family debts, charming aristocrat Tom Calder invites his American guest to join him in drinking his way through the estate’s priceless wine collection. But when they wake in his bed the next morning, they’re convinced that in their drunken haze they witnessed a murder. Problem is, the body has vanished and no one believes them.

Fun listen with some romance
Revisado: 03-11-24
I liked that this kept me guessing and all the Jane Austen references. It was a light read/listen that I could pause and return to without any issues.

Historia
Growing up, the three of us were friends. He was the nerd. I was the playboy. She was the beauty. Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits. He lied. I went off to college, and he got the girl. Amber never knew how I felt. They were together for years - before he broke her heart. Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch. When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.

Good quick listen, but not what I was expecting
Revisado: 08-06-18
I love a good romance book and even an erotic from time to time, but this was a little too slow for me. I didn't get the title, because the escort angle felt like such a tiny part of the story. It was good overall to me, but what I was expecting or hoping for by the description.

Another great book from Karen White
Revisado: 08-06-18
I have read all of Karen White's books so far and have loved them all. Great southern feel and a quality of storytelling that just hits me. This one was a little slow to open, but once I got into the relationships of the women in the story I had trouble turning is off. I can relate to some of the characters' feelings and emotions throughout the story even though they are very different from me. I would highly recommend this book and Karen White's books!

Historia
In October of 1806, the Little Season is in full swing, and Sally Fitzhugh has had enough of the endless parties and balls. With a rampant vampire craze sparked by the novel The Convent of Orsino, it seems no one can speak of anything else. But when Sally hears a rumor that the reclusive Duke of Belliston is an actual vampire, she cannot resist the challenge of proving such nonsense false. At a ball in Belliston Square, she ventures across the gardens and encounters the mysterious Duke.

Another great novel
Revisado: 08-03-15
I am a true fan of Lauren Willig's entire Pink Carnation series. I can't wait for tomorrow's release of the final book in the series though I hate to see it end. In this installment, I love the play of the vampire hysteria to add a touch of modern culture to the story. I all love how old friends are mentioned throughout the series. It lets me remember the characters like old friends.
