Great story, narrator just okay

I really enjoyed this story and learning about the real Deborah Samson while Listening. It is clear that Amy Harmon has done a lot of research about the revolutionary war as well. I found the narrator to be good for the most part, however when she was doing other voices I felt it was sometimes over the top. especially some of the male soldier voices, and when things would become dramatic or emotional it was almost like there was too much acting going on. I guess I want narrators to read a story the same way I would read it.

The person narrating Liv had such a strange cadence, and such a random emphasis on certain words. It was distracting and annoying.
The story itself hooked me and I was interested, but it started to get repetitive as liv wakes up each time with no memory, and I knew who done it fairly early on.

There are many interesting parts of her life, but I found this to be very redundant, got very tired quickly of the mundane descriptions of lavish jewelry, place settings, the constant need for more and more and more and more. Her philanthropic endeavors seemed to take a back seat to all the lavish lifestyle and socialite highlights.

great story, especially for lovers of music, anyone who is dealt with band/group dynamics musically, great writing and the performances were fantastic I'm so glad I listened instead of read the book!

Not Kristin Hannah's best, but okay

It took me a bit to get into it, and I almost didn't finish. I'm glad I stuck with it because it did get interesting as part of the back story of the siege of Leningrad. We don't have a lot of historical fiction books that focus on this topic. It was long in the beginning, the narrator was okay. She did great with the Russian accent, but when she wasn't it was very hard to distinguish between the voices and who was talking, and it felt a little robotic at times.

A must for Howard fans everywhere!

Was so great to hear both of them narrating, would not have been the same in written word to read "I found my thrill, on blueberry Hill". a great story of parental love and respect, And what a great family life they had as child actors. Things could have gone much differently and it was nice to read a memoir that didn't sound so typically Hollywood.

As a Minnesota native I enjoyed listening to the accent and the Minnesota landmarks and things of that nature. It's a great story, the narrator is good sounding very much like a teenage girl. troubling subject matter, couple of twists, ended well
