I haven’t read a Tremblay book that measured up to A Head Full of Ghosts until now. This book was amazing. Narration and direction were perfect. But the STORY. Surprised and horrified! I can’t say enough about how utterly unnerving it was!

The most beautiful, hopeful thing I've ever read.

I've read everything Weir has written, and love the snarky, near-future science in all of them. You got to hear a story of hope, and love for the lone hero. You heard the moral quandary of the funny smuggler on a new settling. But this story was one of friendship that transcends time and space, and was so joyful I had to immediately start reading it again after the first time because I didn't want thay feeling to end.

Best narration by an author I've ever heard.

First, let me thank r/horrorlit for the many like minded readers who helped me discover this author, as they not only recommended the books, and the author, but suggested that listening to the audio version added to the story. They were spot on. I am a huge fan of, say, Stephen King or Neil Gaiman reading their own books because I love THEM. However, I've never heard a story paired with the storyteller as beautifully as this. You will not be disappointed!!!

Great narration; great story!

While I had predicted some of the twists, this was still a great story because the relationship between "haves" and "have nots" of this world is super interesting. I have been on both sides of that equation depending on who I'm with, and it's so odd how we de-personalize other human beings based on what wealth they or their families have accumulated. It's interesting that most of the very wealthy are almost ALWAYS seen as less human because of their wealth. I was intrigued by that aspect of this story and it forced me to reconcile that - while trite - the old saying that money doesn't buy happiness is true, but those without money just can't believe it.

OUTSTANDING!!!

Narration by Rosario Dawson was pitch perfect...the right amount of smugness, great accent work for character differentiation, and no trying to sound like a dude for male characters. Story (like The Martian) was futuristic but not so far off that it felt like Star Trek, and while science-heavy not so technical as to become boring. Plus, Andy Weir writes snarky and witty so well that you wanna have a beer with his characters.

Goofy, but still fun.

Story was interesting enough for me to listen to the whole thing but mostly because I'm usually committed regardless of how silly a book is. I only quit if the narrator is so bad it makes me mad. The sexy parts were okay, but I can't stand the amount of erotica that has a woman climaxing with a pump or two - I don't care how hot the guy is or how turned on we are - that's just not a thing. But there was a lot of incongruous stuff I also found just goofy. By the descriptions these guys are biker-looking, but listen to rap? And their names are completely ridiculous.

Spiritual and Technological baby!

Firstly, love RC Bray as always. His grasp of the sarcastic tone is perfect. And unlike some narration, he doesn't try to hard on voicing other genders (which always sound like amateur drag queens; this holds for when female narrators do bad "guy" voices.) The story I don't want to speak about much because spoilers would result. Suffice to say that I really appreciate the misfit hero of Miah and the man he wants to be.
