Great story, glitchy version
Revisado: 08-10-18
I love Susan Piver's books, and this one is no exception. My only complaint was how glitchy and poorly edited this audio version is. There were a few lines that were repeated (not caught during editing, I assume?) and a cough towards the beginning. After writing this, it sounds sort of silly (and perhaps it is!) but it took me out of the moment. It's still great to listen to, though, recommended for all.

Historia
In 1518, in a small town in Alsace, Frau Troffea began dancing and didn't stop. She danced until she was carried away six days later, and soon 34 more villagers joined her. Then more. In a month more than 400 people had been stricken by the mysterious dancing plague. In late-19th-century England an eccentric gentleman founded the No Nose Club in his gracious townhome - a social club for those who had lost their noses, and other body parts, to the plague of syphilis for which there was then no cure.

All Hail Vaccines
Revisado: 01-31-18
Any additional comments?
This book (and subsequent Google image-searching of covered diseases) made me infinitely grateful for vaccines. Humans are good at forgetting history, and Get Well Soon is a reminder of the absolutely dire calamities experienced and eventually circumnavigated by our ancestors. Well-rounded with lots of information on not only the causes and cures, but the effects each plague wrought on the people and societies that experienced it.
