But even on a restaurant salary, she soon finds herself strapped for cash. Salena’s never been afraid of living on the wild side, though, so she takes on a side hustle that’ll raise big bucks…and eyebrows, if anyone finds out.

Love the whole series!
Revisado: 11-21-23
I loved every book in the series and hope there will be more! I haven’t listened to one book by Catherine Bybee that I haven’t loved! And the narrator makes it that much better! I know I didn’t say why I loved it but that is because opinions on books are all over the place and I have seen 5 stars on books that I hated. It’s like food - tastes vary. If you don’t like it, don’t read or listen to more.

Loved the series.
Revisado: 12-17-22
It is difficult writing book reviews because everyone has different ideas on what makes a book enjoyable and/or entertaining. A narrator can make or break a book. This narrator was great! I really enjoyed all three books. When I don’t find myself rolling my eyes at dumb story lines, skipping past ridiculous sex scenes where the lovers must have invented orgasms, all the main characters have gorgeous bodies (like overweight people can’t have great sex) or women always need a man to rescue them, then it is a pretty darn good book in my opinion. These hit the mark. I would recommend and I would listen to them again. Now I am off to find more books written by Bobby Cole and/or read by this narrator!

Can’t stand whining women!
Revisado: 05-19-22
Why I listened to this the whole way through is beyond me. Well I didn’t listen to it. I skipped through the sex scenes and her whining which was about 3/4 of the book. Maybe reading it was better than audio - but she will still be a whiner who needs a man to rescue her. And here he is in the protective industry with state of the art protection gear and the perp still got into his house. I rolled my eyes through so much of it that it’s a wonder they aren’t stuck at the top. Way too much “junk” that lent nothing to the book.

Great series!
Revisado: 05-09-22
I really liked the entire series. Maybe it has something to do with knowing there is someone out there taking out the bad guys/gals and bringing due justice to those so deserving - even if it is only in a book. Well written and the narrator did a great job! Highly recommend!

Love the whole series
Revisado: 02-19-22
Books are always hard to review because what tickles one’s fancy may not another’s. For me this was a great series to just get lost in while listening. I don’t know if reading is different but I find that narrators can make or break a book. This narrator was great!
Someone mentioned the awful ending. I didn’t find it awful. I wish people would elaborate more. Why was it awful? I found it befitting to the times and the series itself. And I am a serious cynical eye-roller which I didn’t do in this series - if that helps you choose - LOL. In the end, to each his own. But I would listen to it again - and again.

Beautiful overboard
Revisado: 12-11-21
I like these stories. Or I should say I like the premise of the stories. Just know that every one of them are basically the same. This one drove me absolutely crazy with the number of times he used “beautiful’ when talking to Morgan. Maybe it is stupid but it is my review and I thought it was over the top and overdone with someone he knew for a day.

Hopefully the 3rd book will make up for this one. The storyline was excellent but the juvenile childish behavior of the two men was over the top.

Ugghh - the narrator!
Revisado: 08-26-20
Unfortunately I could not listen to this book. It sounds as if it had a great storyline but I was only in to Chapter 3 and just couldn’t listen another second to her breathy, nasally drawn out voice. From what others say they couldn’t either. May be a great book to read but audible - NO!

Where to start
Revisado: 08-07-20
The first book was good. By the second book it got so tiresome of how Amy let her real mother get under her skin and pull her strings like a puppet. Even though she saw awful stuff by the time she was 4, she was young enough when she got out and raised by a good family to be able to put her mother in her place. And she was a cop!
When I have rolled my eyes for the 20th time and grit my teeth over something it is time to cut my losses. It might be an easier read but listening to it not so much. The breathless delivery from everything the mother said was sickening which I suppose was done like that to show how much control the mother had with everyone she came in contact with. Just wasn’t for me.
