Historia
Young playwright Melina Green has just written a new work inspired by the life of her Elizabethan ancestor Emilia Bassano. But seeing it performed is unlikely, in a theater world where the playing field isn’t level for women. As Melina wonders if she dares risk failure again, her best friend takes the decision out of her hands and submits the play to a festival under a male pseudonym.

Historia
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

It seems like just another morning. Around the world, people wake up, check the news, open the front door. On every doorstop is a box. Inside that box is the exact number of years that person has left to live. Whether they open it or hide it under their bed, each person must learn to live in this new world: a couple who thought they didn’t have to rush their life together, a doctor who cannot save himself from his own fate, best friends whose dreams are forever entwined, and a politician whose box becomes the powder keg that ultimately changes everything…

Up there as one of the best from Jodi Picoult. Shocker of a twist in the middle of the book. The whole book was entertaining, thought provoking and educational, in my opinion

Great story
Revisado: 11-03-22
Over the 2 months or so it's taken me to listen to this lengthy tome, these people have become my friends and neighbours. Superbly read by Robert Glenister, I agree parts were cumbersome relating to Twitter feeds etc. but that did not detract from the story for me. I also think that it has a lot of unnecessary stuff that could have been cut out, menial details that just pad the word count and don't add anything. However we have become so involved in Robin and Cormoran's lives over the course of these books and the plots are so involved and clever that I would recommend reading it if you have read the others

Great story
Revisado: 07-25-22
This seems like a simple story, tragic accident, court case looking for someone to blame. However the whole time you are aware something is coming and despite the many scenarios I had in my head, I did not see the twists and turns that gave me whiplash at the end. Highly recommended
