Derek Lin has a gift for helping people solve modern-day human dilemmas through the application of ancient wisdom. The Tao of Tranquility is no exception. Through stories and examples, Derek highlights how we can use the wisdom of the sages to navigate our complex world of today.

I had previously purchased the book and found many insights. When life became even more challenging the opportunity to listen to The Tao of Wisdom audiobook was an added blessing. I found the audiobook, narrated by Sam Guncler, to be a great companion while doing repetitive tasks or before sleep. Not only did it keep me on task through the opportunity to focus on mind-enhancing wisdom; it kept me out of the stinking thinking that often occurred during those times.

Through the stories and examples, I became aware of how I repeatedly ruminate on negative situations. Derek highlights how the sages knew this was a part of the human experience; a part that each person can change by cultivating their connection with the Tao. When my priority became my relationship with the Tao, I found I gained clarity, tranquility, and even serenity. Life’s challenges have become more navigable. With cultivation, hope replaces despair.

I highly recommend listening to this audiobook frequently to enrich and enhance your fullness of life.

Living life from wisdom

In the Tao of Wisdom Derek blends his gift for sharing stories with his ability to translate the spiritual principles within the Tao into usable applications for our modern lives. He has illustrated, through meaningful stories, how to live within the Tao and create a beautiful life centered in the Tao through our choice points.

The Tao of Wisdom has the tools to embrace clarity and simplicity during times of stress and confusion. I found it helpful in quieting my mind as I embarked on yet another job hunt. Tired, frustrated, and fraught with the disillusionment from a reduction in force layoff, I was seeking the commitment of an organization that would provide the stability from which to build a life. The more I listened, the more I realized that I have many opportunities to provide the stability and commitment I was seeking by changing how I approached life.

In my fear, I had withdrawn and withheld my gifts and talents. As I listened to the stories, I realized that I had begun approaching life and each interaction from a mindset of scarcity. I was living in the tunnel of scarcity instead of walking a path within the Tao.

When I stepped back, I saw how I could use this opportunity to improve my skills as well as how I was showing up. I found ways I could give my family, work, and community more commitment and stability. My life has been enriched through the changes. Each time that I listen to the Tao of Wisdom, I find that I am able to reclaim a more peaceful way of living and deepen my spiritual walk. I am grateful for Derek's insights and his graceful way of sharing portals back to the path of the Tao.

If you are seeking a better life, one that is filled with richer relationships and more rewarding experiences, I highly recommend the Tao of Wisdom.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone who wants scratchy, poor quality sound, and a frustrating experience.

What could Wayne Dyer have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I have been a fan of Wayne Dyer's for years. The content duplicated much of what I have heard before. From the description and title I was expecting to hear how this information had been put into place by Entrepreneurs (NOTE Entrepreneurs is plural). While this is a nice snippet on having passion, WHERE are the interviews of more than one Entrepreneur?

How could the performance have been better?

Better description. Interviews of people using/living the information, use of a recording studio with a sound booth instead of ringing phones, clanking, static, and other poor quality recordings.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Wayne Dyer - Passion Changes Everything?

I would use a sound booth. There is phone ringing, clunks and a variety of white noise.
