excellent book average readers

as always Heinlein always tells a good story. although similar to a the Number Of The Beast, it has enough variation to make it enjoyable. unfortunately, the readers were monotone. I could barely tell the difference between the characters if a name wasn't used. I wish there was a volume 2 but this is an excellent end to a monstrous career.

I kept losing the story line and having to relisted to it. I think it was more the narrator than the story because I followed it just fine reading it. the story could use a little twerking, err, tweeking (although every story could use a little twerking), but it was a solid read.

while the pacing was a little slower that I like, it was an excellent yarn. the mc was a likable fellow who wasn't too over powered for his surroundings. he was a little stupid though not listening to voice in his head but that's probably more related to his extreme circumstances now than his innate intelligence. I guess we'll find out. on to book 2. oh, I'm really not a fan of men doing women's voices or vice versa. always strikes me a little conversion can creepy.

so much fun

this is such a fun book. the characters grow in ways that I wasn't expecting and, while the MC wins in the end, he isn't OP and has to work for it. it is a slow burn which isn't bad in and of itself. I'm just waiting for the explosion. the MC is already tangling himself with 3 or 4 women and they are all my favorite types.

this book, nay, entire series, is more fun than a barrel full of monkeys. the number of times the hero gets in trouble thinking with his little head instead of the big one had me rotflmao. one of my contacts thought I was having a seizure I was laughing so hard. if you like the 3 stooges, Benny Hill, and Penthouse Forum, you'll love this book

I am going to pat myself on the back for finishing this atrocious book. the female narrator was hands down the worst I ever heard. She had no range and I couldn't tell the difference between the characters. I actually started wincing every time I heard her voice. the male wasn't much better. he did have more than 1 voice. 2 is more than 1, right? of course, if you count the whispered versions and the gargle version, he had 6. but, since I couldn't understand what he was saying, I don't count those. I'm well and truly irritated.

I loved how the characters developed through the story but, unfortunately, the narrator was not able to bring the characters to life. it felt kinda dead

while I mostly loved the story and performance, I could not get into the female voices. they distracted from the performance.

I liked the story. it flowed well and didn't have any major hiccups. unfortunately, the male narrator was very monotone. no matter what was happening, he didn't seem like it mattered.
