I could not put this book down. There were some slow parts but for the most part this book kept me enthralled and the ending leaves me wanting to buy book 8 right now and not wait for the audiobook.

Rape and Trauma Warning

Though most of the story was great, there was one scene that disgusted me and the following chapters only made it worse.

I am fine with what the demons do, It is consensual and normal, but what happens to [SPOILER] is just wrong and the fact it drives them to consider suicide for a quarter of the book made me disgusted.

Everything else in the book is great in my opinion, but that part went WAY too far. If you have triggers to either rape or suicide approach this book with care.

Hard to get invested.

For the most part I enjoy the story, except for one thing; one thing that the story itself brings up. These people are playing a game and thus the stakes are not high at all. If everything goes wrong they can just go someplace new and start over. The only thing they really lose is the time they invested in what they did. Death is not an issue and they are constantly getting/making new items. The personal stakes are just not that great in my opinion.

Great story, but slow progression

I’m really invested in the story but there are some scenes that take forever to get through that seems to have little to do with the story. It really slows things down. To be fair, the series has been like that most of the way through so it is not new with this book, but it was more noticeable this book.

Decent Story, Terrible Sound Effects

The concept of the story is okay! I love underdogs who become overpowered but not if they get unique advantages like the Protag does. However the performance of the onomatopoeias in the story were so terrible at times it ripped me out of the story. I hope future installments either get rid of them or are preformed better.

Lysander can burn in hell!

Like most of the second trilogy, it is tough to get into but once it grabs you, it really does. The book is great and really makes you care for the characters… with the exception of Lysander who it makes you like only to make you despise him later. Lysander can burn in hell!

Jake Abel is a Legend

I have always been a fan of the Twilight books. This book though was more amazing than I could of hoped and a big part of that was Jake's performance. His range of emotion and passion he put into the reading puts it leagues above the previous audiobooks. I hope Stephenie Meyer does the whole series through Edwards prospective and I hope they keep Jake as the reader.
