Enjoyed this book!

This story gave me some insight to how the rich lived before the 1929 crash. It showed how some people were able to survive and how others could not. I imagined the struggles of the common people who had to claw and scrape to provide for their families. I loved how the story spanned generations displaying how each one had its own unique identity. I could feel the emotion of each character and empathized with them all. This was a great listen! Mr. McLaren did a wonderful job.

I really enjoyed this boo! The attention to detail was no surprise. John Grisham is always very thorough. I originally had a paperback copy. But when driving or doing other activities, realized I needed The audible copy. The performance was so captivating that I decided to finish the book using Audible!

Dear Reader: When I think of Heart of the Night, I think of one of the characters in the book, late-night disc jockey Jared Snow. So do many of my readers, if the mail they send me is any indication. It's his voice - always his voice - there on the radio, as soothing as a massage and twice as sexy. For me, Jared Snow is also a concept, the idea that a single voice on the radio is heard by many different people, with a different effect on each.

I loved this book when I first read in print. Loved it so much that I read it 3 different times! When I saw it was on Audible I couldn't wait to listen. But I was disappointed with Savannnah's voice. She sounded too sappy and soft. I wanted her voice to be more like the narrator's part. But I still enjoyed listening.

I loved this story and the performance. I felt like I was right there with Stephanie and Chase. I laughed out loud and cried with them. And the secondary characters were well rounded. Danielle Steel is the best at story telling. A must read/listen!!
