Just Perfect!
Revisado: 12-19-18
I’ve never purchased something this short on Audible before, but since it was Orphan X I did. I loved it and can’t wait for the full length novel next month.

Historia
It has been six years since entertainment agent Myron Bolitar last played superhero. In six years he hasn't thrown a punch. He hasn't held, much less fired, a gun. He hasn't called his friend Win, still the scariest man he knows, to back him up or get him out of trouble. All that is about to change...because of a promise.

AUTHOR NARRATOR FOR "PROMISE ME". BAD IDEA
Revisado: 10-29-16
I have hundreds of audible books and Harlen Coben is the worst narrator ever! I am about 2 hours into the first book of this box set and I am skipping to the next book. I can't listen to another word. I love his writing. He is not a talented reader. Audible (or the publisher) needs to hire a professional and re-do this book.

So when a man succumbs to complications from being shot by a stray bullet nine years earlier, Bosch catches a case in which the body is still fresh, but all other evidence is virtually nonexistent. Now Bosch and rookie Detective Lucia Soto, are tasked with solving what turns out to be a highly charged, politically sensitive case.

Narrator OK... Bosch is a Stranger
Revisado: 11-08-14
The Harry Bosch I know and love is absent from this book. The Bosch I know always bucks the system, has corrupt politicians and cops trying to bring him down, and does what is right regardless of the possible consequences. The Bosch in this book does everything "by the book". He is rather boring, but the book was good enough to finish. I think this book was written by a ghost writer. So many things from previous Bosch novels were missing. I think that the reviews trashing the narrator are a bit harsh. He has a different "style", more just reading rather than "acting". He did a fine job considering the content.

Narrator needs to SLOW DOWN!
Revisado: 04-06-14
This book was offered as a special, so I bought it after reading the reviews. It is just as many people said. I couldn't keep up! The narrator is in hyper-speed! I slowed this thing down to .75 (that's point 75) on my i-phone, and other than a bit of distortion it was PERFECT :) The story was great. After all of the complaints about the narrator, I am surprised that the same person was chosen for the second book in the series. Try it, but slow it down.

Historia
When Navy SEAL Adam Brown woke up on March 17, 2010, he didn’t know he would die that night in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan - but he was ready: In a letter to his children, not meant to be seen unless the worst happened, he wrote, "I’m not afraid of anything that might happen to me on this earth, because I know no matter what, nothing can take my spirit from me."

Inspiring... However...
Revisado: 05-28-12
I am only halfway through this book. I am continuing my reading (listening) only because I am DYING to find out how Adam even got into the military (with his record). My brother tried to get into the Navy in the 90's and stupidely admitted to TRYING cocaine ONCE in his life (several years prior to his application) The Navy denied his admittance. My brother is now, at age 50, completely sober, a person who tried drugs ONCE IN HIS LIFE. He is a hard-working person, contributing positively to society. Sadly, he has a minimum wage job with no health insurance. Why wasn't my brother accepted into the military when Adam was allowed into the NAVY SEALS after being a serious addict? Just sayin'
