Historia
Three years ago in a large Victorian house on the Jersey Shore in the town of Harbor Haven, fledgling private investigator Paul and his client, Maxie Malone, were murdered. Since then, recent divorcée and reluctant ghost whisperer Alison Kerby and her 10-year-old daughter, Melissa, have moved in and converted the place to a guesthouse, where Maxie and Paul are now checked in for an eternity and ready to solve any case that comes their way - or at least spook the guests (who love it). Alison’s got a lot on her plate at the moment, however, so when Paul discovers the 300-year-old ghost of a small boy in the house, he decides not to involve her in the case.

Meh!
Revisado: 05-26-23
I have just started listening to E.J books and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I do have a bias because I can listen to Amanda R. read just about anything. This particular book, while I have a great appreciation for the subject matter of Autism, it was difficult to get through. the narrator was so blaaaah. his reading is unfeeling and his rendition of the female voices, notably the grandmother is horrible. you can not listen to Amanda as these characters and then this. I don't think I could truly appreciate or always follow the story as well with this narrator.

Kept me completely engaged from start to finish!
Revisado: 04-06-23
I thoroughly enjoyed this series as I was completely engaged from start to finish. As usual Amanda R. gave a great performance. she is the reason I have read most of the series that I've recently engaged in. I am now a true fan of Danielle Garrett as well. the only negative feedback I will have is that in which I've seen others have as well. I do feel like this series should have been offered as a box series or at least combined several of the stories together. it does feel like it was dragged out amongst several books in order to capitalize on obtaining more funds from the reader. that being said it was good enough that I kept on buying.

Revisado: 06-02-22
I almost didn't continue listening to this book as it seemed to be a slow start. But as the true messages of the book began to reveal themselves, I became very invested in the journey. I wish this could become required reading for our youth as it see's their challenges and offers them insight into the perspective of others while identifying with the journey of others.

My first evening in London feels like kismet when I bump into a charming, book-loving Englishman, and by the end of the night, he’s making me see stars. I’m floating when we make plans to meet again. Then fate decides to pull a fast one on me. Turns out, my smoldering new lover is my red-hot competition, and we’re vying for the same promotion at the elite auction house I crossed an ocean for. If that’s not enough, the hottie and I are forced to work together on a brand new collection. Every. Single. Tempting. Day.

just ok
Revisado: 04-07-22
I listened to it in it's entirety so I suppose it kept my attention. it was just to swooney for me. it seemed to go on longer than necessary and lacked much personality. I didn't care for the male voice as Jo. He made her sound constantly breathy and well as if she was always just pining for him. it wasn't a bad book, maybe just not my style of romance.

Hands down the best audiobook I have listened to
Revisado: 11-20-21
let me say that I started out wondering if I was going to really become invested in this book because I felt like Will was just reading and not telling me his story. After a few chapters he found his rhythm and I was locked in!! The inside look into his journey became so relatable. Of course not the stardom but the family dynamics, the upbringing, the identity crisis and the silent discord in ones head of "am I good enough" or will everyone figure out I'm scared and uncertain of my worth. I was elated when he mentioned the book the Alchemist as that is my hands down favorite book. My brother and I have had long insightful conversation about how that book makes you evaluate your entire existence and then it hit me. Wills book was making me have the same deep thoughts and revelations. So many of us African Americans of this age group were raised by the same man and our mothers experienced the same husband. Down to staying married but apart and him not wanting to sign divorce papers. well except paying our own child support. You got that all to yourself lol I finished this book in a week which is a record for me. If I didn't insist on earning a living, it would have been sooner. First you win our hearts, than you win Instagram and now you win Audiobooks lol

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

Insanely cute book
Revisado: 10-26-21
I was not sure what to expect. I grabbed this book as a filler while I awaited my next credit, with little expectations. I quickly found myself smiling while listening, especially since it reminded me so much of how my husband and I met in such a similar fashion. The actors sound so natural as if they were actually on a call together. the only thing I would call a con is not diving more into his relationship with his father. However it certainly wasn't necessary to make this book a pure delight.

In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Not at all what I expected
Revisado: 04-17-21
Having read the 1st book many many years ago I was very excited to see that there would be a follow up book. Great expectations on how engaging this was going to be. Unfortunately I struggled with this book. The whole premise of the book just seemed very odd to me. Immediately my bigger struggle was the narrator. I've enjoyed work Nia Long has done so it's not her personally it's just that I really couldn't embrace her as the voice of Winter. The accent seemed terribly false and terribly forced. While in some points of the story I appreciate it for the lesson it was giving, I struggled with it as a Christian because as it is riddled with Muslim references and went against some of my personal beliefs. if your expecting anything like the original, you will probably be disappointed.

Historia
One thing I've learned about running a shelter for paranormal creatures, you can't afford to let your guard down. It all started when I welcomed an enchanting new guest to my plantation. Strange things started to happen. Well, more strange than usual. I was caught off guard by some conflicting feelings, and it spurred me on to get Brad, the love of my life, committed. To moving in with me, that is. In any case, I was willing to do whatever it took: love spells, black magic, and something so naughty I'd rather not mention it here.
