Historia
The only life Tress has known on her island home in an emerald-green ocean has been a simple one, with the simple pleasures of collecting cups brought by sailors from faraway lands and listening to stories told by her friend Charlie. But when his father takes him on a voyage to find a bride and disaster strikes, Tress must stow away on a ship and seek the Sorceress of the deadly Midnight Sea. Amid the spore oceans where pirates abound, can Tress leave her simple life behind and make her own place sailing a sea where a single drop of water can mean instant death?

I appreciate Alex's transparency. He gives us a step by step plan without any fluff to market a successful product. I'm working now to implement each step with my business and hopeful it will work. I love what I do, but I'm not business minded. Alex has made it seem possible.

Valuable, Actionable Information!
Revisado: 01-05-23
I bought this book because my parents are 80 and beginning to suffer from slow thinking and memory deficits. I have vacillated repeatedly over the years between plant based nutrition and animal proteins for a healthy brain but this book pretty well puts that debate to an end. I highly recommend The Alzheimer's Solution for anyone who wants to keep their brain functioning optimally throughout their life.

In the first-ever biography of Thomas Sowell, one of America's most influential conservative social theorists, Jason L. Riley gives this iconic thinker his due and responds to the detractors. Maverick showcases Sowell's most significant writings and traces the life events that shaped his ideas and resulted in a Black orphan from the Jim Crow South becoming one of our foremost public intellectuals.

Excellent overview of Sowell's remarkable mind
Revisado: 04-26-22
I started reading Sowell's columns in the 80s while in high school. I thought they were so insightful I would cut them out and keep them in a notebook. I've since read 3 of his books and listened repeatedly to podcasts/videos with him discussing his research. I'm not normally a groupie, but his brilliant words are rare and incredibly needed today.

Revisado: 02-17-22
I've never used foul language - I watch movies only if they are filtered (Vidangel). I was tempted to stop listening because of the profanity, but I felt Will's sincerity and decided there might be something valuable enough to keep listening. There was! Will managed to address some of life's fundamental human relationship dichotomies in a way that is surprisingly accessible - readers from competing world views can relate. I've read hundreds of biographies, performance, and business books and I would put the insights Will shares with the best of them.

Historia
Eugene England (1933–2001) — one of the most influential and controversial intellectuals in modern Mormonism — lived in the crossfire between religious tradition and reform. This first serious biography, by leading historian Terryl L. Givens, shimmers with the personal tensions felt deeply by England during the turmoil of the late 20th century.

Not for the faint of heart - but excellent!
Revisado: 01-15-22
I found myself frustrated in the beginning and middle of the book with Eugene England and his seeming inability to see or his dishonesty toward council and criticism. Reading the entire book left me feeling that he was sincere and faith promoting in his desires and approaches. I feel a kinship with his love for and testimony of the Book of Mormon and God’s prophets, seers, and revelators, and his frustration toward the inadequacies of authoritarian administrative policies and cultural fractions within the church. Not knowing much about Eugene England beforehand I felt that Givens did a remarkable job with the biography.

Historia
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

The culture of “safety” and its intolerance of opposing viewpoints has left many young people anxious and unprepared for adult life. Lukianoff and Haidt offer a comprehensive set of reforms that will strengthen young people and institutions, allowing us all to reap the benefits of diversity, including viewpoint diversity. This is a book for anyone who is confused by what’s happening on college campuses today, or has children, or is concerned about the growing inability of Americans to live and work and cooperate across party lines.
