Historia
After crushing the Forest Tower and moving into a home big enough for my four companions and I, a period of relaxation feels much deserved. Fate has other plans for us, though. When troubling news arrives from the South, we pack up our things and ride for adventure once again. Minh, Astra, Siobhan, and Brea ride beside me as we head deep into the riverlands of Souther Acalia. At the end of every coursing river, the Lake Tower waits, tall and imposing.

Well I like the story progression...
Revisado: 08-14-23
I enjoy most of the story but not truly a fan of harems. Unless it's equal it doesn't work. and it seems like the 2nd female who he loves as his 1st love. I can't stand her character... Lol! the most annoying character in my opinion. I understand why all the females fall in love with this guy? but then he's only in love with one girl. If it was just they're only contracted with him for a time where they can find their own true love, then sure why not
I've even read a series like this where the OP male had many women or wives but they mostly where on equal footing at least those who came in about the same time, those added later had to vetted by the 1st wives. No hard feelings and even though he may felt loyalty to one bcuz she was his 1st she was way tolerable and mature compared to this character. Maybe the series will end differently... 😮💨 bcuz I'm interested in the world and the way they cultivate.

It's getting better...
Revisado: 03-29-22
I'm glad I stuck with it. it's had a interesting story line plot, I'm not too interested in extremely long and detailed sexcapades... it's extremely too much in going a full chapter or more and turn around have another lengthy romp. The only other thing is the becoming the punching bag for a grieving mad man who takes his anger and pain out on her. True/soul mate or not the emotional and mental theatrics, and threatening family members? she better than me. He wouldn't even be in space. you only have to tell me once. Boy, BYE!! I would've evicted the little horny, blood-thirsty monster inside.
This was better. it was more plat driven and had me curious to how powerful she will become. About the truth of her family dirty little secrets. who or what her father/creator is and how this will play out. Getting better now they are apart and have time to do loans. I hope the next book is not him chasing all over the place. that was already done.

CONFUSED!!!
Revisado: 09-03-21
There's just too many stupid decisions in this book towards the end I can't even... you mean to tell me the weakest character in this series can and she's just as powerful as one the strongest demons and powerful witch? She can bring someone back to life and split that one person into 2 separate bodies but can't think to use her damn wings to fly away from her idiot abusive ex? Chile I'm tired 😫 Maybe if her brains cell hadn't died during orgy sessions then she could make better decisions. I'm disappointed that she have to have one of her men try to come save her. Girl, you better save ya Damn self...They may not always be there to save you...lmaoooo!

My name is Selena Foster, and I am the first of my kind in a millennium. I thought that made me invincible. Untouchable. All it really makes me is a target...and a weapon. The Supernatural Council is going to war, and they've decided what better spear than the girl that can slay demons? So they blackmail me, and I become the property of the Council. They think they own me, but you can’t own what you can’t control. I thought the first year at Daizlei was hard...but the second might kill me. Either way, I'm not going down without a fight.

Revisado: 05-24-21
MFC is definitely something else... smh! Chile the disrespect on this girl. she's talking to her sisters like they're not the same age as her. it's laughable. I think their age should've been a little older to make the dialogue make sense or just make her the older sibling. I had laugh when she realized that she's gonna have to work and stretch her mind and body to make sure others know who she is. Also, her sense of entitlement is absurd. Talking about human and you can barely pass gym class or regular classes. I hope thus new terminator attitude she put on don't destroy her and get more ppl killed. Otherwise, it's one of the better books I've listened to. The narrator was really good and not irritating that God.

I'm really enjoying the plots and secrets in the series. Is anything as it truly seems? I love a great mystery. The way this Female Libra's personality is written, I absolutely love it! Determined and focused seeing all angles to figure things out but not to forthcoming either.... So far so good. waiting on the next audible!!

Leaving my husband was hard. Trying to face the world alone with my teenage daughter is the sort of thing nightmares are made of, but I caught a break. My best friend just hired me for a great job, with perks like a rent-free house right beside not just one handsome man, but five! Each one is hotter than the last, and all of them seem interested in me. But everyone around us has these strange golden eyes...and there are the questions no one will answer. And who cares if there's a lot of wildlife running around at night? I do, especially when a wolf keeps sneaking into my backyard.

This was a great start to this series. I liked the older mother part to it, a lot of these books tops towards the youth. Also, not sure how I felt about the diseased/virus but if they do it with vamps I guess why not.
looking forward to the 2nd book

good but confusing?
Revisado: 04-18-21
this is definitely a different type of shifter story. it takes on a different point of view. I like the inventive mind of the author and world building. the only thing I'm slightly confused on are if these are indigenous people to America. the red hair green/blue eyes kinda of threw me off and would make me think that they're more of Irish descendants. also with the clan's name and speaking of tribes and ancestors it would definitely make me think that they're indigenous. Anyway, besides that I would say the main character I'm trying to understand this particular female's thought process. Smh, because she went from being the new girl in town meeting family and interesting people to becoming firmly a bigot, and snapping on anyone who tells her the truth about her lying family who she obviously doesn't know and I hope when I buy the next book she progresses and learns. I'm actually hoping she's actually a part wolf that would definitely teach her invaluable lesson. I'm looking forward to see what truths falls out this family tree...I have a feeling she's going to get a reality check real soon and probably waa better off staying where she was...lol!
Other than that, the book is pretty enjoyable.

For years she's pushed away any thought of revenge against the man - now a god - responsible for their deaths.

Southern pride, vanity, and old sugar daddies...
Revisado: 03-02-21
So this review is based on the audiobooks I've listened to this far...
Didn't like the 1st narrator. It's just that she sounded a bit old. Loved the Duet narrations!
I like the story building to a point. The Fae creatures grotesque appearance is awesome with human interactions and comparisons. Some of the characters, I loved. The MFC not so much. She's vain, selfish, lazy and that may explain her going from oblivious to book smart. I'm not saying she's stupid but her character had no interest in learning and growing. She said that was her sister's lane, plus she complained about why she has to save everyone. However, she expects the men to drop what they're doing to save her, take care of her but not tell her anything because god forbid you give her information that will save her life cause she will cuss you out. Ha! I know she loves reading and her interest seems more on the beauty and fashion and maybe home and garden type but she seems to be growing but she needs a lot of work... lord have mercy. As far as the other characters, some have their strengths in the development which makes it enjoyable and entertaining. The males by far have a more interesting storyline then the main girl. All she seems to talk about is the good ole south glory days, laying around having her mama cook her food and not learn from her but want a husband talking like she back in the 1800s... crazy! If her character was eccentric it would have come off better like 1950s style and she doesn't curse no biggie and had some other quirks that would fit. I will leave this part here...
The writing style was jarring at times because of randomness thoughts or weird transitions. like example: she's going to look for a pen then she has a whole long memory dialogue about when she and her sister were playing by the lake and having a great time and laid out to bask in the sun but she wants to write in her journal so her needs a pen?. (not in book. just writing style example) it's like you forgot what the show was trying to do in the 1st place cause one it took to longer in the memory and two what was the purpose of telling that useless information? it's not a lot but enough where it's noticeable and throw you off. Also transitions, there's times I'm not sure if there's an actual conversation on thoughts in a person's mind or if action has taken place until further into the paragraph. I have to go back over it to understand what I heard. Lastly, I hope this is not a romance book and that's not what the bothersome part. The author gives brushes over that part but is very descriptive if not overly on everything else. it would have been to left it out completely. Anyways, overall as annoying and the MFC can be and few other things. it's not to bad. I just wished they had the audiobooks at the library for free because this is a lot of books to purchase.
