Historia
At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors from both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

Changed narrator and ruined the book for me...
Revisado: 10-19-13
What did you like about this audiobook?
Story and Involvement of characters and sub characters even though it was kind of predictable
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
Calypso... we can all remember her story from the previous Titan books involving Percy. HER attitude changes drastically with Leo and then BAM! Another love saga... it just fits Riordan's writing style. I like that though bc it made me want to reread the original Percy Jackson books to see the differences
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
As usual Riordan doesnt fail to envelope the reader within a world full of mythological wonderment. However, making Nico gay and in love with Percy was A LITTLE over the top. I wont be letting my kids read this book bc of it. Not yet anyways. Reading it would only open the doors to questions they dont need to be asking at such a young age. 3 or 4 years and then maybe
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
It was too dry, without feeling, and left me wanting to just stop and buy the book instead but I had already used one of my credits for this purchase. I feel cheated. I waited a year for him to butcher characters that I had already grown in my mind... it was disappointing to say the least. Also, he doesnt stay consistent with character accents either making it very confusing to know who is talkinga nd when they stop. Not to mention his pronunciation of different words and characters in the books
Do you have any additional comments?
Quit changing Narrators for book series... its confusing. I understand scheduling conflicts for authors and narration but someone had to have listened to his portrayal of this work prior to release. If someone did, shame on them!!

Historia
Pi Patel has been raised in a zoo in India. When his father decides to move the family to Canada and sell the animals to American zoos, everyone boards a Japanese cargo ship. The ship sinks, and 16-year-old Pi finds himself alone on a lifeboat with a hyena, an orangutan, a zebra with a broken leg, and a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Soon it's just Pi, the tiger, and the vast Pacific Ocean - for 227 days. Pi's fear, knowledge, and cunning keep him alive until they reach the coast of Mexico, where the tiger disappears into the jungle.

The journey's just as important as the destination
Revisado: 03-23-13
Would you listen to Life of Pi again? Why?
Yes. The story was inspirational and imaginative. It supports the idea that faith can take your mind, body, and soul on an amazing journey if you allow yourself to be swept away.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Richard Parker aka Pi
I enjoyed the aspect of Pi actually being Richard Parker. I think if this was truly the case, I think Pi went crazy at Sea and his mind developed a coping mechanism by inventing himself as Richard Parker, fierce and mighty Tiger, to survive. Throughout the book, it alludes to this idea. However, If this is not the case and I am merely spitting wild conjecture, I would have to say my favorite character is STILL Richard Parker. Tame to a Point but a lethal Hunter first, just ask the french man.
What does Jeff Woodman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The dialect was difficult to understand at times but after a while I kind of got used to it. The later in the book it made me feel like I was getting a "bird's eye/1st person POV" for the story. I think acclimating to the India dialect distracted me at first but once I became more accustom to it I enjoyed the story much deeper and better.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moment when Richard Parker saved Pi at the end of the book. They were both blind and dying. Pi reached over and stroked RP's fur. RP didn't move. I thought he was dead.
Any additional comments?
This is one of those books that can really speak to you if you allow it to. It was ultimately Pi's faith in GOD that lead him to salvation. As some would see coincidence, others would see divine intervention to the many "Lucks" bestowed upon him and RP as they floated lost at sea.
