Historia
Guy is about to finish writing his breakthrough online article. He overheard the story by chance in a pub and it’s guaranteed to go viral - all he needs to do is persuade the World’s Unluckiest Man to talk to him. His best friend Larry’s quest for killer clickbait material has led him to a recently appeared shanty town in Glasgow, where he finds some kind of urban voodoo cult. Ex-cop Sam has already come face-to-face with the terrifying force behind both these phenomena, but he’s been trying to put it out of his mind.

This one has it all.
Revisado: 12-03-21
An excellent piece with horror, sci-fi and a compelling story that will have you hooked. Reminds me a bit of Stephen King's IT but its not nearly as slow or dense or vague. I feel like this is probably the most realistic piece of horror fiction I've ever seen or read in terms of what people would actually do in a horror situation. Very excellent and will check out Smitherd's other works.

Paul Sheldon is a best-selling novelist who has finally met his number-one fan. Her name is Annie Wilkes, and she is more than a rabid reader - she is Paul's nurse, tending his shattered body after an automobile accident. But she is also furious that the author has killed off her favorite character in his latest book. Annie becomes his captor, keeping him prisoner in her isolated house. Annie wants Paul to write a book that brings Misery back to life - just for her. She has a lot of ways to spur him on.

Sound design a little hit and miss - Great Story.
Revisado: 02-08-21
I thought the guitar sound effects were a little bit hokey, but the story was terrific. Narrator was fine overall especially as Annie, but other times her performance was a little flat.

Best Character Ever Written
Revisado: 08-31-18
Ignatious is probably the most entertaining character I've ever come across in literature, he is disgusting and vile but you can't stop listening to his story.

Makes you feel Hopeless
Revisado: 08-31-18
I think this book is really well written - every "negative" about the book seems to be intentional as if that's the point. None of the characters are particularly unique or memorable, but that's kind of the point. Not much action happens, but that's kind of the point. Some of the things that DO happen are shocking and disturbing, but that's kind of the point.

Historia
It’s 2011, and Samuel Andresen-Anderson—college professor, stalled writer—has a Nix of his own: his mother, Faye. He hasn’t seen her in decades, not since she abandoned the family when he was a boy. Now she’s re-appeared, having committed an absurd crime that electrifies the nightly news, beguiles the internet, and inflames a politically divided country. The media paints Faye as a radical hippie with a sordid past, but as far as Samuel knows, his mother was an ordinary girl who married her high-school sweetheart.

Historia
Stephen Sheerin was born to play on Broadway - or at least, under it. He's a musician, a conductor, and his dream is to music-direct a big Broadway musical. After years of toiling in the pit of some of the best-loved (and loathed) hits on the Great White Way, he's just been given his big break. Can life really be going that well? Of course not.

Hilarious Performance
Revisado: 04-22-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes, although most of my friends are theatre people. Non performers might be annoyed or uninterested by it.
If you’ve listened to books by Seth Rudetsky before, how does this one compare?
I haven't but I plan to. His voice and delivery are histerical.
Do you think Broadway Nights needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes and no. It's just a memoir about a period in the author's life.I would listen to another one, but it doesnt necessarily NEED a follow-up.

It helps that he only takes things the homeowner would never notice are missing - like a roll of toilet paper or a bottle of maple syrup. Martin has spent so much time snooping through homes he feels like he knows the owners, but when he starts meddling in their personal lives, his precise world turns to haos.

Fun and Entertaining
Revisado: 04-22-13
What made the experience of listening to Something Missing the most enjoyable?
It can be a little tedious to read this story with all of the details, but listening to it is very enjoyable and relaxing.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main character is so memorable because of all of his rules. Very interesting.
Any additional comments?
A fun listen. Nothing too important or breathtaking, but fun.
