There is nothing I can relate to more than the anger, frustration and sarcasm heard in the words and tone of Elie Mystal. i highly recommend listening.

Rick recaps a wild week at the DNC. He gives an in-depth reaction to Kamala Harris' speech, noting her ability to appeal to moderate Republicans and independents. He also touches on the cruel attacks from some MAGA supporters and emphasizes the importance of not treating Trump and Harris as equivalent candidates. Go Rick!
Revisado: 08-26-24
I look forward to the day when I'll be on the opposite team as Rick because that will mean our democracy is no longer under threat, but in the meantime there are few people that are better at calling out the insanity.

American Democracy is not promised to us and, with all the forces working against it, saving it will take a level of work most people aren’t ready for. The Politics Girl Podcast is here to give people a reason to care and a reason to fight. Our goal is to inspire. To instill in people a true understanding of what this country COULD be, if the right people were fighting for it, and what it WILL be if they don’t. It’s a political podcast yes, but more than that, it’s a podcast about America’s potential, where one passionate, and slightly mouthy, immigrant attempts to motivate the ...

Excellent recap of Trump justice
Revisado: 08-16-23
Two of my favorites together talking about the federal cases against Trump and his coconspirators. They break down the last several years and make it easy to understand. I'm only sorry to say there is no swearing.

Perfectly named book
Revisado: 06-19-23
This is exactly what I would imagine as the brain droppings of George Carlin, now that I think about it. If you're expecting political commentary, you'll be disappointed, but listening to him reminded me of the kind of things my dad would say so it was a nice, easy listen over Father's Day weekend.

Brandy heads back to Chattanooga and Higdon, Alabama, a third time. Knocking on doors has yielded some results – the most promising being word from Tiffany’s sister-in-law, Ashley, that Tiffany does want to talk and is only waiting for some sort of NDA to run out. So, in town again, Brandy leaves a note at a house she thinks belongs to Tiffany’s in-laws, and, while refueling at the local pizza place, receives a totally unexpected text: “I got your letter. I will tell a great story about everything that happened, but only to the one who pays the most. So what are you paying?” The ...

The most important takeaway from this is that people-at least some people-will believe what's they want to believe regardless of the proof that's provided to them.

At the top of my list of podcasts
Revisado: 02-28-22
I have gotten some of the best book recommendations from the Mary Trump podcast and have enjoyed listening to political commentators I watch on TV let loose and tell us what they really think.
I did have one point of disagreement with Mary in her 9/6/22 Nerd Avengers. Our problems are first and foremost always about money. Rich/greedy people use every option to divide and race continues to be the easiest identifiable factor for creating division, that is why systemic racism is such a problem.
